(NYSE:MKL): OneBeacon Insurance (NYSE:OB) announced that they have entered into definitive agreements to terminate their exclusive underwriting arrangement with Hagerty Insurance Agency and to sell Essentia Insurance Company to Markel Corp. OneBeacon anticipates that upon closing the transaction, they will record a $23 million pretax gain on the sale. The selling of Essentia is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close during the first quarter of 2013. The termination of the agency agreement will be effective as of the closing date of the Essentia sale. Their shares closed at $469.00, up $7.3 or 1.58% on the day.
