Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC): Intel Corporation’s (NASDAQ:INTC) former Medical Doctor Rajiv Goel was released in a court ruling without any jail term because he assisted the government in catching the disgraced founder of Galleon in one of the largest insider trading trials in the United States. Rajiv Goel was accused of passing secret data about the company to Raj Rajaratnam. A U.S. court awarded two years of probation to Goel and also fined him $10,000 in addition to making a payment of $266,649.

QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM): A physical teardown of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 5 by IHS iSupply, indicated that SanDisk (NASDAQ:SNDK) is a new supplier that contributed the NAND flash memory in the specific iPhone 5 that was dissected. IHS wrote that this is the first time SanDisk NAND has been found in an iPhone. The firm said iPhone 4S suppliers returning with the iPhone 5 include Samsung (SSNLF), Qualcomm Incorporated, Murata, Dialog, Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN), STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM), Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS), Avago (NASDAQ:AVGO), Skyworks (NASDAQ:SWKS), NXP (NASDAQ:NXPI) and AKM.
Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS): Rambus Inc. (RMBS), which was sanctioned by a judge for destruction of documents in a United States chip patent case with SK Hynix Inc. (000660), will only be required to pay what is defined as a reasonable royalty. U.S. District Judge Ronald M. Whyte, in San Jose, California, on Sept. 21, decided to strike from the record any evidence supporting a Rambus royalty that is “in excess of a reasonable and non-discriminatory” amount. Whyte ordered both companies to file their proposals on the rate amount to the court.

(NASDAQ:ARMH): ARM Holdings PLC. announced the availability of the Keil™ MDK-Fujitsu Microcontroller Development Kit, which is aa complete C/C++ software development environment for the ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor-based microcontroller Fujitsu FM3 microcontroller family. The new MDK-Fujitsu has been developed with a Fujitsu Semiconductor, a long standing partner of ARM, and will help customers to accelerate development efficiency while decreasing market time, thus enabling further expansion within Asia.
