A preliminary injunction from June 26 that prohibited Samsung (SSNLF.PK) from selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US has been lifted by a Judge Lucy Koh, as the jury in the landmark patent case between Samsung and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) had found that the Galaxy tablet did not violate an Apple patent. On the other hand, Samsung has filed a complaint that the new iPhone 5 had infringed some of its own patents.

Hillenbrand (NYSE:HI), owner of subsidiaries that deal in death care products and material handling equipment, announces that the remaining parties to the FCA anti-trust lawsuit have withdrawn their lawsuits without any finding or admission of liability or wrong doing by Hillenbrand or its Batesville subsidiaries.
EU Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia quoted on the deal between UPS (NYSE:UPS) and TNT Express: “An important issue in our analysis is whether the company that resulted from the merger would be challenged enough by the other two competitors; DHL and FedEx (NYSE:FDX). It is important that customers continue to have access to these services at competitive conditions.”
