Merck & Co. (NYSE:MRK) and AiCuris have reached an exclusive global licensing agreement for the new portfolio of AiCuris, which consists of investigational medicines targeting Human Cytomegalovirus, including letermovir, or AIC246, which is an oral, late-stage antiviral candidate being evaluated for the treatment and prevention of HCMV infection in transplant recipients. Through the terms, Merck will obtain via a subsidiary the worldwide rights to develop and commercialize candidates in the HCMV portfolio. AiCuris will receive a €110 million upfront payment and is also eligible for milestone payments of up to €332.5 million, based upon successful achievement of developmental, regulatory and commercialization goals for HCMV candidates, including letermovir, which is an additional back-up candidate, as well as other Phase I candidates designed to act via an alternate mechanism. Closing of the transaction is contingent upon obtaining the customary clearance from authorities.
Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) next star performer game, Halo 4, has been leaked online and is being pirated, says Business Insider. This game is made by Microsoft subsidiary 343 Industries, and is set for debut on Xbox on November 6th. The company says that it’s working with its security teams and law enforcement to fix the problem.

Bristol Myers Squibb Company (NYSE:BMY) is the sole domestic drugmaker among the top 12 to decline in trading in 2012, and investors and analysts do not anticipate a rebound this year, due to drug pipeline setbacks, says Bloomberg. Shares have dropped by 6.1 percent thus far, while at the same time the Standard & Poor’s 500 Pharmaceutical Index has jumped by 13 percent.
AT&T (NYSE:T) signs a multi-year, sole provider agreement with Fiserv (NASDAQ:FISV) for its CheckFreePay walk-in bill payment service. This new contract expands the walk-in bill payment capabilities for Wireline customers into 13 more states.
