Hollywood’s holiday rush is long over, and we’re months away from the blockbuster extravaganza that keeps us entertained through the summer. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have a reason to hit up a movie theater this month. Throughout February, studios will release several highly anticipated films. From young adult hits and kid-friendly flicks to star-powered thrillers and exciting historical adventures, there will be something for everybody at the cinema this month. Here are just four films people are buzzing about.
1. The Monuments Men, dir. George Clooney
Set at the end of World War II, The Monuments Men tells the true story of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Program. This Allied group of art historians, museum directors, and curators was assigned to rescue valued artworks from Nazi possession and return them to their rightful owners. The comedy-drama features an all-star cast that includes Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, and George Clooney, who also directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Grant Heslov. If you’re a fan of historical films and ensemble pieces, you’ve got plenty of reasons to check out The Monuments Men starting this weekend.
