Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have been on The Voice since it first started in 2011. Over the years Shelton and Levine have become closer, leading fans to love their friendship. They also have taken home huge paychecks for being fan favorites.
But television shows don’t last forever, even when they’re huge hits. Will the duo stay on the show until it ends? Or are they already planning their big exit? Well, it’s possible that they will bow out before the show is over. Here are 10 things we know about Blake Shelton and Adam Levine possibly quitting the show.
1. Levine says it’s “inevitable” that he’ll be done coaching
The Voice veteran has won three times on the show with Javier Colon, Tessanne Chin, and Jordan Smith. He has given some great advice to aspiring and working artists, and has also given his fellow coaches a tough time.
Although it seems like he’s still enjoying himself, he knows it’s inevitable that he’ll be done coaching eventually. “Inevitably, when that day [when I quit] comes — unless I’m on the show until it’s done, who knows? — I would entrust my position with very few people,” he told Yahoo!
It’s great that the singer is protective over his position, but that doesn’t mean he won’t walk away. Levine has also expressed who he would like to replace him if that time comes, while sources behind the scenes claim that the singer has been unhappy lately.
