Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is notoriously secretive when it comes to its future products. However, thanks to multiple leaks from the Cupertino-based company’s China-based supply chain and “unnamed sources” cited by various media outlets, Apple watchers have a fairly good idea about what to expect and what not to expect at the company’s upcoming September 10 media event. Here are six products and services that Apple aficionados might see at tomorrow’s event in Cupertino.
1. iPhone 5S
Based on Apple’s product refresh cycle history and multiple leaks from Apple’s supply chain, most observers are confident that Apple will be revealing an upgraded flagship iPhone at tomorrow’s event. This device is widely expected to be called the iPhone 5S. However, unlike previous iPhone refreshes, Apple is expected to expand its color options beyond black and white. According to various supply chain leaks, Apple will unveil two new colors for the iPhone 5S: gold/champagne and graphite/gray.
Besides the additional colors, the device is also rumored to include a faster A7 processor and an improved camera with dual LED flash. However, perhaps the most radical upgrade that the new iPhone 5S is rumored to include is the fingerprint scanner. This biometric technology may simply be used as a secure authentication method for iPhone owners or it may be part of a new electronic payment system.
