Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) has reportedly chosen its mathematician co-founder and chief scientist Tom Leighton as its new chief executive. The current Chief Executive Paul Sagan has reported his intentions to step down in by the end of next year, having served in the position since 2005. The company originated from Leighton’s research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on algorithms to speed up the Internet.
OCZ Technology Group (NASDAQ:OCZ) said Monday that it has begun a beta test program for its Linux Acceleration Software development and invites its enterprise SSD customers to join in. The new Software is a fast caching storage solution for the firm’s portfolio of enterprise SSDs and is designed specifically for Linux-based physical and virtual environments. OCZ is a top supplier of high-performance solid-state drives for computing devices and systems.

United Technologies Corporation’s (NYSE:UTX) Sikorsky’s new S-76D, which recently received Type Certification from the United States FAA, will receive the LCR-100 attitude and heading reference system that is made by Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC).
Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) on Monday morning sent out formal invitations for the unveiling of its BlackBerry 10 operating system for the BlackBerry, in New York on January 30th. The company also reported that “120 enterprise and government customers are enrolled in a BlackBerry 10 technical preview.”
