Nokia (NYSE:NOK): HTC has lost a German lawsuit after a court decided that it violated Nokia patents for technology helping to save battery life on mobile phones, Bloomberg reports. The Mannheim court ruled that it infringed upon the German part of Nokia’s European patent, and HTC argues that the patent is invalid and plans to appeal the decision. Last year, Nokia sued HTC, BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY), and ViewSonic Corp. in the U.S., U.K., and Germany over 45 patents. The mobile-phone maker has fought to reverse a sales slide, and it settled a suit with BlackBerry in December. A month earlier, HTC reached a global patent settlement with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
