Consumer Business Roundup: New FCC Rules Will Benefit Comcast & Time Warner

It is anticipated that the Federal Communications Commission will ease up on regulations that require cable providers such as Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) to offer competitors access to regional sports networks that they own. The new procedure will consist of the FCC’s chairman taking care of enforcement on a case-by-case basis, rather that making the providers supply access when satellite links are used to place content onto cable networks. This new policy could negatively impact DIRECT TV (NASDAQ:DTV), DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ:DISH), and AT&T (NYSE:T)
