Here’s Why Apple Stores Have Turned (RED)

Source: Apple.comApple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has colored its normally white Apple Store logo red in recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1. The California-based company has also provided a link to (RED), a non-profit that funds the global fight against AIDS, on its official website. As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple made similar changes at its retail stores last year to show support for World AIDS Day. The retail store transformations began yesterday at Apple’s Regent Street Store in London.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also marked the occasion on his official Twitter account. “We are marking #World AIDS Day by turning Apple’s logo red,” tweeted Cook. “Together we can achieve an AIDS free generation.”

As noted on the official World AIDS Day website, December 1 “is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.”
