Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may take just five months to launch the next generation of its iPad from the release of the last version, with a Japanese blog reporting that the fifth-generation model of the tablet was headed for the market as early as March.

Japanese blog Mac Otakara said that the next version of Apple’s 9.7-inch tablet may arrive in March with a thinner and lighter frame that would put it closer to the iPad mini. The report added that an upgraded iPad mini with Retina display was also on its way.
