Owens Corning (NYSE:OC) faces “fairly substantial headwinds,” says RBC capital. This includes difficult revenue comparisons within roofing businesses and the margin improvement rate in the insulation segment. On the other hand, the firm sees a buying opportunity for midcap GARP investors with an investment horizon of two to five years created by low expectations for the company. The firm sees an optimistic long-term outlook.
Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE:EMR) price target was reduced by Baird due to Emerson’s slowing sales growth trends, foreign exchange headwinds, and a slowing macro environment. The shares are Outperform rated.
Amarin Corporation plc (NASDAQ:AMRN): According to Jefferies, yesterday, the USPTO unexpectedly posted positive actions pertaining to three important Amarin patent applications based on MARINE. MARINE is a core ‘889 application and two continuation applications (‘408, ‘145). The firm sees the actions progressing to near-term patent issuances, possibly providing AMR101 protection through 2030. The firm maintains a Buy rating and raises the price target to $26 from $24 on the stock.
Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (NASDAQ:CTSH): Following a meeting with outsourcing IT players, BMO Capital predicts that Cognizant’s financial services business will increase by 15% during 2012. The firm does not see the company being hurt by the European slowdown. The firm keeps an Outperform rating and a $65 price target on the stock.
