Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) released information that is of interest to the entire tech field. Last month was the first time that tablets started driving more web traffic than smartphones. The software provider attributes this shift to the nature of tablets. Their larger size makes them more convenient for browsing the internet than smaller devices are.
Zdnet notes that it important to remember that tablets and smartphones are completely different devices. Consumer use cases shows that one cannot simply replace the other one because mobile device owners use them to accomplish different tasks.
Adobe based its report on analyzing data from over a billion visits to more than one thousand websites last year. To get an idea of the different uses, Adobe noted that smartphones are more likely to be used for things like paying bills and streaming music. Tablets on the other hand are more often used for shopping.
