Intel (NASDAQ:INTC): An Intel exec claims that bigger tablets will become an afterthought with the evolution of the market. Kirk Skaugen is a vice president in Intel’s PC Client Group, and he declared at the recent Intel Solutions Summit 2013 that the future for 10-inch tablets is likely to “rapidly erode” in 2013, ZDNet reports. This is due to the success of smaller tablets, whether they be in the form of the 8-inch Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad mini or 7-inch Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android competitors. Also, Skaugen believes that full-sized slates will disappear as hybrid laptops offering detachable displays or other tablet features that continue to enter the marketplace. A number of those convertible notebooks are to be powered by Intel chips and will be based on the company’s Ultrabook platform.
