2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo Priced From $176,585
Nissan today announced pricing for the 2017 GT-R Nismo in conjunction with the 12th Annual Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach, California.
The track-oriented Nismo is priced from $176,585, a large step up from the $111,585 Nissan charges for the GT-R Premium model.
The new Nismo features unique body work with carbon fiber front and rear bumpers, black outside mirrors with red stripes, and carbon fiber side sills and emblem treatment. It also has a handmade dry carbon rear spoiler with a special coating that allows the weave to be felt.
Inside, the GT-R Nismo gets leather upholstered Recaro seats with synthetic suede inserts.
The 2017 GT-R Nismo’s 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V-6 makes 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque, numbers that are up 35 and 14, respectively, from the base model but equal to the figures from the last GT-R Nismo. Nissan says the Nismo’s turbochargers are similar to those used for GT3 racing. The ignition timing control is optimized for each cylinder, the fuel pump is upgraded, and a special lightweight titanium exhaust system is standard.
The suspension has unique tuning that increases roll stiffness and reduces weight. Additional body spot welds and adhesive bonding help increase body rigidity. Nissan says the suspension changes and added downforce from the unique body elements result in better handling and a 2 percent improvement in slalom and cornering tests.
The Japanese Classic Car Show marks the North American debut of the 2017 GT-R Nismo; it made its world debut at the 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring road course in Germany this past May.
Nissan is showing the new Nismo with the number 05 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 race car and a series of classic cars, including a 1961 Datsun Fairlady Sport, a 1969 Datsun Patrol, a 1971 Nissan Skyline “Hakosuka” GT-R, and the number 46 1971 BRE Datsun 510 race car.
