Why Does Ryan Reynolds Prefer Motorcycles, and What Does His Collection Look Like?
He landed his first acting gig on the TV show Hillside in 1991 when he was still a teenager, and he’s hardly stopped working since then. What we’re saying is he’s been a big-time actor for more than 25 years, and he’s made a lot of money (he’s worth roughly $75 million by some estimates). What does he like to spend his money on? Well, Ryan Reynolds’ motorcycle collection is enough to make even non-rider a little bit envious.
Some of the bikes in Ryan Reynolds’ motorcycle collection
Custom Triumph Thruxton
One of Reynolds’ most famous rides is a custom bike built to look like an old Triumph Thruxton. Kott Motorcycles in Los Angeles built the bike, which is fairly new but looks like it’s been around for years. Triumph wanted to give Reynolds a bike, and the actor had Kott work on the custom flourishes, according to Motorcycle News.
Custom 1964 Triumph 650 — Nine O’ Clock Gun
Reynolds has another custom Triumph in his motorcycle collection, a chromed-out 1964 650 designed and built by The Factory Metal Works. It’s named the Nine O’ Clock Gun in honor of a naval cannon fired in Reynolds’ hometown of Vancouver, Canada, every night.
Ducati Paul Smart Limited Edition
Reynolds also has an eye for sporty European motorcycles, too. He owns a retro-looking Ducati Paul Smart Limited Edition, and it’s rumored he also has GT1000 and SC1000 Ducatis in his garage, too.
Triumph Bonneville, Triumph Tiger
It seems like timeless looking bike take center stage in Ryan Reynolds’ motorcycle collection. He tells For the Ride that he loves the classic styling of Triumph motorcycles, which why he owns a Bonneville and a Tiger in addition to his custom Thruxton.
What was the first motorcycle Ryan Reynolds rode?
Even if he weren’t rich and famous, Reynolds would still be a motorcycle guy. He tells Forbes that he learned to ride on 1975 Honda CB750 and that it’s a bike he’d love to add to his collection.
Why Ryan Reynolds prefers motorcycles to cars
Between a busy career and fatherhood, Reynolds has enough distractions every day and he doesn’t need another one. Riding a motorcycle is a lot simpler than driving a car, which is why he prefers it.
As he tells Men’s Health:
“I love the fact that when you’re on a motorcycle, riding a motorcycle is the only thing you’re doing.”
One of Reynolds’ favorite ways to unwind when he gets any downtime is finding a few buddies, hitting the road, and making a long-distance motorcycle road trip.
Reynolds isn’t alone when it comes to celebrities who ride
Ryan Reynolds is hardly the only celebrity who rides. Jay Leno has an amazing car collection, but he likes riding almost as much as he loves driving.
Brad Pitt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ewan McGregor, Pink, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Josh Hutcherson, and Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead are a few of the other stars who enjoy two-wheeled transportation, according to Motorcycle Manic and E! Online.
