6 of the Best Nightlife Hotels in America
When planning a vacation, picking the hotel is often an afterthought. Most people make their choice based on price or a few online reviews. Though you probably won’t end up staying somewhere horrible using these methods, you’ll likely wind up somewhere with a lackluster party scene. This is definitely bad news for those who like to let loose on vacation. If you’re all about checking out the best bars and clubs, book your next stay at one of these six hotels.
1. Dalano South Beach (Miami Beach, Fla.)
That it’s located in South Beach is only a small part of why the party crowd flocks to this ultra posh hotel. It’s also home to the glamorous Rose Bar, where celebrity sightings are a regular occurrence, and FDR at Dalano, an impressive space that serves as a nightclub with top DJs and an impressive cocktail list. If you manage to roll out of bed during the day, head to the hotel’s fantastic pool, which also provides direct access to the beach.
No time is a bad time to head to South Beach, but Miami Music Week in March is especially fun. The Delano served as headquarters in 2015 with tons of great acts. If all of this hasn’t convinced you to book a stay, just check out the hotel’s impressive Instagram feed.
2. Wynn Las Vegas (Las Vegas)
Even mediocre stays in Las Vegas offer plenty of opportunities to let loose, but the Wynn takes things to a different category of awesome. By day, you can rent a private cabana at one of the hotel’s swimming spaces. The Sunset Pool, which is only available to guests, is the hotel’s designated topless area. According to Business Insider, it’s a great place for those who want to have a good time without going totally crazy.
You’ll have easy access to any location along the strip, but there’s really no need to leave the Wynn. The hotels boasts two nightclubs, one intimate and one that’s an over-the-top blowout. Because entertainment is what Vegas does best, you can see a performance and even book a dinner and show pairing all within the resort’s walls.
3. The Standard High Line (New York)
Instead of going for the obvious choice by heading toward Times Square, you’re much better off heading to Manhattan’s Meatpacking District for the best party-friendly stay. It’s really not all that surprising when you consider The Standard High Line features a sophisticated rooftop bar that hosts performances from singers like Rita Ora and Erykah Badu. And you can seriously get your party on if you head to Le Bain, the hotel’s other nighttime spot that features a pool right on the dance floor.
For a more relaxed evening, head to The Standard’s Biergarten. Open year round, this space is enclosed in glass to stay perfectly toasty during the cold months. And be sure to check out the outdoor ice rink.
4. The Hollywood Roosevelt (Los Angeles)
Experience old movie glamour at The Hollywood Roosevelt, which hosted the first Academy Awards in 1929. The Spare Room is a great place to grab a drink and play a few games on the vintage bowling alley. Serious cocktail connoisseurs should head to The Library Bar where mixologists craft custom drinks based on your favorite ingredients.
The real fun, though, happens at the hotel’s Tropicana Pool Bar. It’s a relaxing place to catch some rays during the day, but transforms into a bustling club after dark. And forget about leaving the fun stuff to Friday and Saturday, because midweek reigns supreme at Tropicana. The venue hosts NightSwim on Tuesdays, which draws some impressive performances.
5. theWit (Chicago)
Located near some of Chicago’s best shopping and performance venues, theWit is a seriously happening place to stay. You’re within walking distance of tons of great nightlife spots, but one of the best in the area is found within the hotel. Aptly named ROOF, theWit’s rooftop space is so much more than a bar. The place regularly hosts DJs, local acts, and plenty of other events. Chicago recommended arriving before 10 p.m. to avoid waiting in a massive line.
After an extremely late night, rejuvenate with a massage or specialty men’s pedicure. You can even book a spa room for an incredibly luxurious stay.
6. Omni Austin Hotel Downtown (Austin, Texas)
Some people consider proximity to a loud nightlife scene a flaw, which might scare some folks away from staying at Omni Austin Hotel Downtown. For those who live to go out, though, the hotel offers perfect access to Austin’s famous Sixth Street. Need some ideas for where to go? Thrillist ranked every bar in the district from best to worst. If you’re looking for something slightly more relaxed, go for a swim in the heated rooftop pool or grab a drink at the lounge.
