A Look at the 8 People Donald Trump Follows on Instagram
Twitter is obviously Trump’s favorite social media account, but he’s also pretty active on Instagram. Though he follows 45 people on Twitter, he’s a bit more selective on Instagram. Read on for a closer look at the eight people Donald Trump follows on Instagram.
1. Lara Trump
Lara Trump is Trump’s daughter-in-law (she’s married to Eric). How she snagged a follow from the president when he doesn’t follow any of his other children’s significant others, we’re not exactly sure. It could be because of her politically-minded career — she’s a television host and campaign advisor. Whatever the reason, Lara uses her Instagram for pictures of her and Eric, pictures of their dogs, politics, and selfies.

2. Tiffany Trump
It’s no secret that Trump and his daughter Tiffany aren’t exactly close (especially compared to his relationship with Ivanka), so we’re almost surprised Tiffany got a follow. But she did, and because Trump follows his daughter with Marla Maples, he gets an inside look at all of her socialite activities.

3. Melania Trump
Of course Trump is going to follow his wife on Instagram, though the account isn’t actually hers. Her bio explicitly says, “This account is run by the Office of First Lady Melania Trump. Messages may be archived.” The account details Melania’s travels and efforts as FLOTUS.

4. Eric Trump
Trump’s son Eric also earns a follow. After Trump became president, Eric was put in charge of Trump Winery. In addition to frequent photos of his son, Eric also posts plenty of pictures from Trump Winery. His bio reads, “Executive Vice President of The @Trump Organization. Husband to @LaraLeaTrump. Huge advocate for @StJude. #MakeAmericaGreatAgain www.TrumpStore.com.”

5. Donald Trump Jr.
Trump’s namesake, Don Jr., also gets a follow from the president. Taking a look at his profile, it’s easy to see the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Don Jr. mostly uses his account for political posts aimed at making Democrats look bad, memes, and photos of his family. We can see why the two of them follow each other.

6. Hope Hicks
One of the few non-family members Trump follows is Hope Hicks, the White House director of strategic communications. The two worked together first when Hicks was Trump’s press secretary during his campaign, and currently as the director of strategic communications. Business Insider thinks that maybe Hicks created Trump’s Instagram account since he follows her on there, but not on Twitter. Her account is currently set to private.

7. Daniel Scavino Jr.
Another non-family member who gets a follow from the president in Daniel Scavino. Scavino is Trump’s assistant and director of social media (no wonder they follow each other on every platform). According to Business Insider, Scavino is in charge of, “at least to a certain extent,” Trump’s social media accounts. Scavino himself mostly posts about life in the White House.

8. Ivanka Trump
Of course Trump’s golden girl, Ivanka, gets a follow. It’s obvious that Trump respects Ivanka, her being his advisor, so it makes sense that he’d like to keep up with all of her social postings. Ivanka typically posts about life as the president’s advisor, her family, and a few glamour shots here and there (she used to be a model, after all).
