Heading to Disney? See If You Can Spot These Hidden Mickey Decorations

Did you know there are hidden Mickeys all over Disney parks? Sometimes they show up in the architecture, sometimes they show up in the park decorations, and sometimes they even appear in the cobblestones you’re walking on.

The hidden Mickey tradition started as an inside joke between Imagineers back in the ’70s and ’80s. Because rides and decor constantly changed since then and because the tradition has been going on for so long, there’s no way of knowing exactly how many hidden Mickeys are in each Disney park, but we do know there’s quite a few.

Next time you’re headed to Disneyland or Disney World, keep an eye out for these hidden Mickeys.

At Walt Disney World in Tomorrowland, you’ll find a hidden Mickey on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Fastpass machine. On the top right of the machine, you’ll see three planets (the two red ones make the ears and the light blue one makes the face) in the shape of a Mickey head.

2. The Disneyland hotel carpet

The carpet at the Disneyland hotel may look like just a bunch of swirls and stars, but upon closer inspection you’ll find a couple hidden Mickeys. Keep an eye out for them all over the different Disneyland hotels; there’s quite a long list of Mickeys hidden among the decor.

3. The Tomorrowland sign

This one’s a bit trickier, but Mickey’s definitely there. At Walt Disney World, in Tomorrowland, you’ll see a sign that reads “Recreational Rocket Vehicle Show” in big, block letters. On the left side of the sign you’ll see the moon. If you look closely at the moon, you’ll find three craters in the lower left corner, which create a hidden Mickey that’s out of this world.

4. Pinocchio’s Daring Journey

At Disneyland in Fantasyland, you can find a few hidden Mickeys in Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. Pinocchio’s Daring Journey is pretty dark, so the Mickeys in there can be tough to spot, but they’re there. Look out for the ones featured on a bright orange flag — the pattern on the flag is a handful of little red Mickeys.

5. At the Epcot Outpost

This hidden Mickey in Walt Disney World is a little more on the creative side. Located at the Epcot Outpost, you can find Mickey’s head in three of the wooden poles. You have to be in the right spot and at the right angle to spot it, but look closely and you’ll get to check another hidden Mickey off your list.

6. Tarzan’s Treehouse

You’ll have to go to Disneyland’s Adventureland to find this hidden Mickey. Tarzan’s Treehouse, built in an 80-foot-tall tree, is a look inside how Tarzan lives in the jungle. It’s also home to a hidden Mickey or two. Take a look at the big metal drums near all of his pots and pans. See the shape they make? Looks like a couple of mouse ears to us!

This one may require those of us with strained eyes to squint a bit. You can find this hidden little guy at Walt Disney World in the Epcot Canada Pavilion.

Hanging from a wooden box is a fish on a blue string. The fish has several spots, but one of those spots is particularly Mickey-shaped

8. In the fireworks

This last Mickey is not quite so hidden, as it appears in the sky during every grand fireworks display, but it is definitely the most magical. There’s nothing like spending a wonderful day at the happiest place on earth, surrounded by Mickeys, and admiring a big, beautiful firework Mickey light up the sky before heading home.
