Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk (coconut milk or almond milk may be substituted)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • ⅓ cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 cup chocolate ice cream

Optional ingredients

  • Whipped cream

DirectionsCombine milk, ice cubes, and peanut butter in blender and blend until smooth. Add chocolate ice cream and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses, top with whipped cream, and serve.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vanilla or funfetti dry cake mix
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender except sprinkles. Blend until smooth. If using, stir in sprinkles. Pour into cups and serve immediately, garnished with more sprinkles.

Use up fresh summer produce in this strawberry milkshake from The Kitchn. The malt powder is optional, but it adds another layer of flavor to this frosty treat. The next time you need a refreshing sweet to cool you down, turn to this milkshake.

Ingredients:

  • ½ pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced, plus more to garnish
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ to 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon malted milk powder or regular powdered milk (optional)
  • 1 pint strawberry ice cream

Directions: Sprinkle the sugar over sliced berries and stir in the vanilla. Put the strawberries in the freezer for about an hour. Put two pint glasses  or four smaller glasses in the freezer to chill.

When the strawberries have frozen solid, pull them out and put them in the blender with ¾ cup milk. Blend until the strawberries are pulverized. Add the malted milk powder and blend.

Take the blender jar off the motor, and add the entire pint of ice cream. Stir it into the milk and strawberries by hand. Put the jar back on the motor and blend thoroughly. If it won’t blend very well or gets stuck, carefully add as much as ¼ cup more milk. Stir or shake if necessary.
