Prince Harry Told Thomas Markle Exactly How He Feels About Donald Trump
Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s father, gave an interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain. During the interview, Markle discussed phone conversations he had with his new son-in-law, Prince Harry, according to CBS News.
The pair discussed a variety of topics including President Donald Trump and Brexit. The men discussed Trump on at least one occasion, Markle said during the interview, according to CBS News.
Markle said he had been in a bad mood during one of their conversations because of a recent decision Trump had made. “Our conversation was I was complaining about not liking Donald Trump, he said ‘give Donald Trump a chance.’ I sort of disagreed with that,” Thomas Markle said on Good Morning Britain.
While we don’t know if and when Trump will meet the queen, one this is for sure. Thomas Markle wants to meet Queen Elizabeth II.
“I would love to meet the queen,” Markle said on Good Morning Britain, according to CNN. “I have had respect for that woman since I was a child.”
Before Meghan Markle became a member of the royal family — historically, the royal family doesn’t share their political views — she voiced her opinion about Trump. Meghan called Trump “misogynistic and divisive” on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in 2016, according to Independent.
Meghan’s dad also said during the interview that he spoke with Prince Harry about Britain voting to leave the European Union in 2016, known as Brexit.
“I think he was open to the experiment,” Markle said.
In July 2017, Meghan posted a photo on Instagram — she has since deleted her account — of a sign that read “If EU leave me now you take away the biggest part of me,” according to The Sun.
Meghan’s has shared her political views in the past but now has to keep them private per royal protocol. However, members of the royal family have expressed their opinions about topics in opposition to Trump before.
