Roy Moore just can’t keep from putting his foot in his mouth. The Alabama Senate hopeful has been attacked frequently in recent months due to his unsavory past relationships with underage girls. It has even come out that Moore was supposedly banned from a mall in Gasden, Alabama, because of his creepy behavior towards teen girls that worked there.
It came as no surprise when Moore sent out a tweet boasting of his values, writing: “I think they’re afraid I’m going to take Alabama values to Washington and I can’t wait. #ALsen.” As you might imagine, Twitter users were absolutely ruthless. We’ve compiled a list of the best responses.
18. A throne of lies
Technically, he doesn’t sit on that throne just yet.
17. Seeking sanctuary
Maybe Alabama is trying to elect Moore so they can get him out of their state. Ever think of that?
16. A concerned citizen
It sounds crazy, because who would ever support that? Oh, right. A pedophile.
15. Not all Alabamians
We shouldn’t assume everyone from Alabama shares Roy’s “values.”
14. To catch a Senator
New idea: To Catch a Predator, but with members of Congress.
13. Dazed and confused
It was much more amusing when it was Matthew McConaughey.
12. Oh, those values
The mall has certain standards when it comes to creepers hitting on teenagers.
11. Choose wisely
Take your time. Really think this one over.
10. Moore should tread lightly
The image of Roy Moore as a snake just feels right, doesn’t it?
9. Be good, for goodness sake!
He sees you when you’re sleeping, Roy.
8. Anything but a Democrat!
Pro: Electing a Democrat is better than a pedophile. Con: No more free candy in those old beat up vans.
7. Everything looks bad when you remember it
Being so low in education and crime might explain the apathy toward a grown man dating 15-year-old girls.
6. That’s a big stain
He’s like the mustard on Alabama’s clean polo shirt.
5. A creative response
It’s simplistic, but a solid effort.
4. He has plenty of support
It’s no secret why Donald Trump supports Roy Moore. They have similar taste in women.
3. Character concerns
Remember when “good character” was something that politicians at least pretended to have?
2. Read your Bible, Roy
We’re not talking about the Jesus that would cut taxes for the rich, support gun rights, and kick poor people off healthcare. The Biblical Jesus.
1. A specific demographic
To be clear, this is a caricature. But it’s hard not to picture this when thinking of someone who votes for Roy Moore.
