Places like Los Angeles and New York City attract plenty of A-listers for good reason. But what about the not-so-obvious places celebrities choose to call home? Clearly, there must be some sort of star-quality that draws them in.
From upscale spots in Southern California to unmatched privacy with not a paparazzo in sight, these nine neighborhoods are attracting more celebs than ever.
1. Hollywood Hills, California
Beverly Hills may have the country’s most famous zip code — 90210 — but the Hollywood Hills are just as, if not more, special.
Home to the famous Hollywood sign, this scenic neighborhood is located in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles. Far enough from the L.A. madness, the Hills have long been a favorite of Hollywood’s elite. And they certainly have a go-to spot.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “The Bird Streets section of Hollywood Hills, in particular, remains the favored home-buying locale of hip Hollywood.”
Famous homeowners have included Ben Stiller, Justin Timberlake, and John Legend.

2. The Hamptons, New York
As the quintessential summertime escape for well-off New Yorkers, the Hamptons are “a collection of quaint villages boasting the million-dollar second homes of dozens of A-listers,” Forbes writes.
In addition to actors Alec Baldwin, Renee Zellweger, and Gwyneth Paltrow, plenty of famous chefs have pads in the Hamptons, too. Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, and Rachael Ray are just a few culinary-inclined fans of the region.

3. New Orleans, Louisiana
New Orleans has never been short of good food, great music, and plenty of top-notch entertainment. So, it’s no surprise the city attracts a handful of artistically-minded folks.
According to Elle Decor, “The cultural offerings of New Orleans have caught the eye of a number of celebrities, including Matthew McConaughey, Beyonce & Jay Z, Solange Knowles, and Brangelina.”

4. Brentwood, California
The streets are picturesque, the homes idyllic, and the downtown bustling. The town’s main attraction, San Vicente Boulevard, features upscale shops, quaint cafes, and, of course, lots of celeb spottings. Jennifer Garner, for instance, is often seen roaming Brentwood’s picture-perfect streets, and even Tom Brady once called it home.
Bordering Santa Monica, Brentwood offers young parents access to stellar schools, as well. According to Forbes, Steven Spielberg’s kids attended Santa Monica’s First Presbyterian School, while Arnold Schwarzenegger’s kids went to the Brentwood School.

5. Miami, Florida
Miami is synonymous with glitz, glam, and A-listers on the hunt for sun-drenches beaches and a bustling nightlife. More specifically, it’s an island off the coast that really attracts the rich and famous.
Known as Star Island, this Miami Beach enclave has been home to the likes of P. Diddy, Lenny Kravitz, and Hulk Hogan.

7. Bedford, New York
Celebrities looking for a little peace and quiet can head to Bedford, New York. Located about an hour and a half from the city, Bedford offers high-profile celebs a picturesque setting void of the Big Apple’s paparazzi.
The likes of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Martha Stewart, and Bruce Willis have been known to favor this upstate enclave.

8. Calabasas, California
The Kardashians may have put Calabasas on the map, but there’s a laundry list of celebrities who’ve taken up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. In fact, even before the Kardashians made the area famous, Calabasas was the setting of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey’s Newlyweds back in 2003. Ah … the memories.
So, why has Calabasas attracted the likes of Justin Bieber, Jerry O’Connell, and Kendra Wilkinson, to name just a few? According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s the privacy, the value of property, and the safety — even though there are plenty of panic rooms sprinkled about the area.

9. Hidden Hills, California
Located just across the 101 freeway from Calabasas lies the equestrian-oriented Hidden Hills, which apparently transcends time. “We have no sidewalks or street lights,” David Stanley, veteran T.V. producer, entertainment lawyer, and former mayor of Hidden Hills, told The Hollywood Reporter. “People are out walking, the kids gather at the community center to swim and BBQ, and once a year we put on a parade to celebrate the founding of our city — marching bands and all.”
Nicollette Sheridan, Melissa Etheridge, Drake, Jennifer Lopez, and LeAnn Rimes have all called Hidden Hills home.
