Of course, people are interested in how he’s running the country, but they are also pretty curious about Trump’s personal life. Keep reading to get the juicy details on how Donald Trump met his wives, and try hard not to cringe.
1. Ivana Trump — married from 1977 to 1992
Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, talked about meeting “The Donald” in an interview with The New York Post, according to Elite Daily. The native Czechoslovakian was visiting New York for a fashion show in 1976 and went to the now-defunct Maxwell’s Plum on the Upper East Side, which was known for being a wild singles bar.
“[There’s] this tall blond guy with blue eyes,” said Ivana Trump. “He said, ‘I’m Donald Trump and I see you’re looking for a table. I can help you.’ I look at my friends and said, ‘The good news is, we’re going to get a table real fast. The bad news is, this guy is going to be sitting with us.’ ” Donald Trump paid Ivana’s bill and left, but he was waited outside for her in the driver’s seat of a limousine — and the rest is history.
2. Marla Maples — married from 1993-1999
According to Elite Daily, Trump met Marla Maples one afternoon in the early 1990s on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. He saw her on the street and used that old line, “Haven’t we met before?”
But Maples had met him before. “I had seen him at different places throughout the years and just said hello, I was just somebody he shook hands with,” said Maples. Keep in mind that when Trump met her, he was still married to Ivana.

3. Maples and Trump heat up
Marla Maples would frequent Atlantic City, where Trump did business, according to Elite Daily. And Trump was doing more than business — Maples wasn’t the only woman he was seeing.
“Donald was not really very discreet about it,” said Roger Gros, the then-managing editor of the magazine Casino Journal. “He had her stay on the Trump Princess all summer except when Ivana came.”

4. The wife and mistress cross paths
One winter, Trump had Maples stay at a penthouse in Aspen, according to Elite Daily. His wife Ivana and their children, however, were also in Aspen at the time.
One evening at a fancy restaurant, the two women crossed paths — and it wasn’t pleasant. Ivana yelled at Maples, “I have a happy marriage. I’m very happy. Stay away from him! Stay away from us!”

5. Ivana exits stage left
Donald and Ivana Trump’s “happy marriage” ended in 1992. In 1993, Trump and Maples welcomed a daughter into the world, Tiffany Trump.
Two months later they married, then separated four years later in 1997 and divorced in 1999. When they separated, they announced, “After a long relationship, we have decided to separate, as friends.”
6. Melania Trump — married from 2005 to present
When 52-year-old Donald Trump had been separated from his second wife, Marla Maples, for about year, he met Slovenian model Melania Knauss, according to Elite Daily. During New York Fashion Week, Trump spotted her at Manhattan’s Kit Kat Club and introduced himself — even though he was scheduled to meet another woman that night.
“I went crazy,” said Trump. “I was actually supposed to meet somebody else. There was this great supermodel sitting next to Melania. I was supposed to meet this supermodel. They said: Look, there’s so and so. I said: Forget about her. Who is the one on the left? And it was Melania.”
7. Melania met Donald at the right time
Trump took Knauss for a trip to his favorite spot, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, just a month after meeting her. And apparently, it was a fortuitous meeting for Knauss.
“She ran into Donald just at the right time. She was just about out of money, at the end of her rope and about to move back to Eastern Europe,” said a friend of Knauss’, according to Elite Daily.. Trump asked Melania to move in with him at Trump Tower after they had dated for two years — and married her in 2005.
