1. A hedge fund billionaire paid Guy Fieri $100,000 to be his friend for a day
In Allen Salkin’s book, From Scratch: Inside the Food Network, he writes about how embattled hedge-fund billionaire Steven A. Cohen (whose SAC Capital Advisors is charged with insider trading) paid Fieri to drive around Connecticut with him and reenact an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Salkin goes on to write that the two enjoyed each other’s company so much, a real friendship was born from the deal.

2. Four women accused Mario Batali of “inappropriate touching”
Mario Batali has been accused of groping a woman’s breasts, grabbing someone from behind, and compelling her to straddle him. The allegations, spanning at least two decades, came to light in this Eater NY article that came out in 2017.
“I apologize to the people I have mistreated and hurt. Although the identities of most of the individuals mentioned in these stories have not been revealed to me, much of the behavior described does, in fact match up with ways I have acted,” he responded to the article.

3. The cops found Fieri’s stolen yellow Lamborghini
In 2011, Fieri’s 2008 Lambo Gallardo was stolen “when some crook went into the British Motor Car Distributors dealership in S.F. … rappelled down from the roof … slithered through a window and sped off with the ride.” But in April 2012, the Marin County Sheriff’s Dept. arrested a 17-year-old boy on a gun charge, and when they searched his storage unit, they found Fieri’s Lambo.

4. Jamie Oliver stole a non profit’s gluten free label
In September 2017, a non-profit called Gluten Intolerance Group of North America sued Jamie Oliver for stamping some of his online recipes with a ‘GF’ symbol — which they believe is a rip-off of their own label. According to TMZ, “GIG says Oliver is purposely marking his recipes with this logo to make it seem like they’ve been certified gluten-free, which they argue is crowding their turf. They say he’s misleading consumers, and could ruin their rep.”

5. Rachael Ray, Marc Summers, and Mario Batali hit the strip club
Salkin also writes in his book about a 2004 food show in Cleveland, Ohio that got a little wild. He wrote about Rachael Ray, Marc Summers, and Mario Batali getting sloppy at a strip club. “When they arrived . . . it was closing in 15 minutes, Mario ordered 25 shots and sent over lap dances to Marc and Rachael.” Salkin also wrote that Ray was so hungover the next day, she forgot to explain parts of her recipes to the audience.

6. Guy Fieri accidentally put himself in the middle of a custody battle
When Morgan, Fieri’s sister, passed away, her 11-year-old son, Jules, was caught in a custody battle between Morgan’s parents and Jules’ father. While the two parties were battling over where the boy should live, Fieri took Jules on vacation to a remote lake in Northern California. Which is a nice thought, but the lake didn’t have any cell service. So while they were gone, the battle had to be completely put on hold until someone could reach Fieri and the boy.

7. Martha Stewart cancelled Ina Garten’s pilot
When Martha Stewart was still trying to break into TV production, she approached Ina Garten with an idea for a cooking show that took place in Garten’s home. According to The Daily Meal, Garten was miserable throughout the whole experience. The crew reportedly ruined her lawn, dirtied her carpets, and backed up her toilets. To add insult to injury, Stewart ended up canceling the pilot because the plates Garten used were too similar to her own.
