5 Secluded Vacations That Require Taking a Private Flight

Some places that are worth visiting are harder to get to than others, and though sometimes more expensive, it’s worth the extra loot to get to a secluded destination. Whether a charter flight is required or you’re just looking for an epic location for a bachelor party, here are some of our most worthy locales.

Home to a private airstrip only accessible to guests, Deep Water Cay is an exclusive tiny island resort in the Bahamas. Stay at one of the seven stand-alone ocean view cottages or one of the six two-, three-, or four-bedroom beach front private villas, with days spent fishing for the elusive bonefish in the flats of the Bahamas, underwater searching for undiscovered reefs, or relaxing on 2.2 miles of sandy beach.

2. Crystal Coast, Beaufort, N.C.

Travel to North Carolina’s pristine Crystal Coast via private flight into Michael J. Smith Airport, located in the coastal town of Beaufort, N.C. — once named “America’s No. 1 Town” by Travel + Leisure. Home to 85 miles of shimmering beaches, crystalline blue waters, and lush maritime forests, the Crystal Coast is located along North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks and represents one of the only remaining natural barrier island systems in the world. Our favorite spot? The Emerald Isle. With its extra private and spacious locale, guests can rent beach mansions, known locally as “Sandcastles.”

Located six miles west of the town of Telluride, Telluride Regional Airport attracts elite travelers year-round, from upper-crust members of society who visit for elaborate ski vacations, to the rich and famous who visit for the annual Telluride Film Festival. From Telluride’s Gold Season — during which visitors can see the mountainsides glisten as the Aspens pop with vibrant yellows and oranges — to the endless outdoor adventures available each season, Telluride is a playground for every adventure, or luxury, traveler.

As one of the highest points on the island, the Airport in the Sky is Catalina Island’s only airport. Famous for its world-renowned boating culture, water activities, and upscale sophistication, travelers visit Catalina Island for more than just an escape from city life. Spas, luxury accommodations, and wedding venues perfect for that special day attract those looking for a touch of regal elegance to this unique destination.

While you might not think of Forks when thinking of a locale worthy of chartering a private jet, this small town is famous for much more than being known as the site of the popular tween series, Twilight. Just minutes outside the small, rural community lies some of the most stunning beach real estate in the country. The Pacific Northwest, known in part for its rugged wilderness, can certainly be proud of Forks and its wild beaches. Breathtaking views at Rialto Beach, La Push, First Beach, and Second Beach will make the largest of men feel simply insignificant when standing on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, overlooking majestic rocks shooting straight out of the crystal blue waters.
