3 Things to Know About Prince Louis Before His First Birthday
Prince Louis Arthur Charles is the youngest of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children, and he’s the child we the public, know the least about.
We know he’s got two older siblings, a brother, Prince George and a sister, Princess Charlotte, but little else is known about the young prince himself. Part of that may be due to the fact that he’s barely a year old and maybe because his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, want to give Prince Louis as normal an upbringing as they can considering they are British royalty.
Keep reading to learn three things about Prince Louis, who will celebrate his first birthday tomorrow.
1. He’s only been photographed a handful of times
We’ve only seen a small number of photographs featuring the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Prince Louis made his public debut when his parents posed for the traditional photo on the steps of the Lindo Wing at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital as Princess Diana and Prince Charles did with both Prince William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.
Another portrait, taken by Middleton, was released shortly after his birth, of Prince Louis being held by his big sister, Princess Charlotte, on her birthday in 2018.
The public caught a glimpse of Prince Louis at his christening, then in a family portrait celebrating Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, and again in a family holiday card released by Kensington Palace. Hopefully, the family will release a new picture of Prince Louis in honor of his first birthday.
2. His birth weight made him the heaviest Cambridge baby
Prince Louis broke a royal record when the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to him at 11:01 a.m. on April 23, 2018, when he weighed in at 8 pounds 7 ounces. His birth weight made him the heaviest Cambridge baby and heir to the throne in at least 100 years.
At the time of her birth, Princess Charlotte weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and Prince George weighed 8 pounds six ounces. All three siblings were pretty close in weight at the time of their birth but Prince Louis became the heaviest royal baby in the last
3. Prince Louis is on the move
As Prince Louis is about to turn one, he’s getting to the point in his young life where he begins moving around on his own. In March 2019, while visiting the Henry Fawcett [sic] Centre in Kennington, south London, Middleton revealed that her youngest son had almost started walking, according to Hello! magazine.
“Louis just wants to pull himself up all the time,” Middleton told another mother. “He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them.”
By now, Prince Louis may be walking on his own and may soon be chasing after his older sister and brother.
