This week brought us plenty more gossip, including new casting for the X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants, to the latest on Aquaman. Below, check out five of the biggest Hollywood rumors of the week.

1. These three characters may be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

As is the case with any Marvel blockbuster, the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel has already spawned its fair share of rumors. The latest to circulate the web claims to unveil the identities of the characters played by Elizabeth Debicki (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), Tommy Flanagan (Gladiator), and Chris Sullivan (The Knick). Though the three stars have been a part of the cast for a while now, we haven’t heard details about who exactly they’ll be playing — until now, thanks to Comic Book Movie.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but the website claims that Debicki, Flanagan, and Sullivan will play the characters of Ayesha, Tullk, and Taserface, respectively. As fans know, Ayesha is a character from the comics first introduced as Paragon, who has significant ties to Adam Warlock. Meanwhile, Tsarface and Tullk are names that don’t appear in the comics, but could be a different take on an existing character (for example, the latter could be modeled after the alien named Tullk Ul-Zyn, an associate of Ronan the Accuser). Marvel and director James Gunn have yet to comment on the speculation, so it remains to be seen whether these character details are the real deal. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.

2. The New Mutants may have cast its first three stars

Josh Boone may have found the first three members of Fox’s planned X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants. According to Hitfix, Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) is attached to play Rahne Sinclair, better known as Wolfsbane, and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) will portray Illya Rasputin, aka Magik. Alexandra Shipp, who plays X-Men: Apocalypse‘s young Storm, will also reportedly join the cast.

In addition to these three, the report claims that New Mutants will also include the still-uncast characters of Cannonball, Sunspot, and Mirage. Fox has yet to release any official details about the movie, so fans will have to stay tuned to see whether the rumor proves to be true.

Warner Bros. is currently developing plans for a Dungeons & Dragons film, with the likely hopes of turning it into a franchise. The project is in relatively early stages of development, but it may have just taken a significant step forward by landing a director. According to Tracking Board, the studio has tapped Rob Letterman to take on the project.

Letterman is known for helming Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Alien, and most recently, Goosebumps. Now, the studio is apparently hoping he’ll create a spirited big screen take of the classic game. Whether or not Letterman has officially taken the gig remains to be seen, as neither Warner Bros. nor the director have confirmed the news.

4. Aquaman could feature this Batman v Superman character

Batman v Superman featured a lot of characters — including one that viewers heard, but didn’t actually see. As you or may not have noticed, Patrick Wilson portrayed the President of the United States in the movie. Though he never actually made a physical appearance, his voice was was heard on a speakerphone during the film’s climactic battle as the government tried to figure out what to do during all the chaos.

Considering that Wilson has previously collaborated with Aquaman director James Wan, some have been wondering whether Wilson will reprise the presidential role in the upcoming solo Aquaman movie. Wan discussed the possibility to ComingSoon, saying:

You just might! … That is a house of cards. That is one with a lot of story strains and story plot. Whether you go work in DC or go work at Marvel, the sandbox is kind of established and you kind of have to play within the sandbox. The key is to, hopefully, when you’re in the sandbox, to create your own castle.

Considering Wan and Wilson have previously worked on both Conjuring movies, it wouldn’t be a big shock to see Wilson show up in some way in Aquaman. We’ll have to stay tuned to see whether the possible cameo will come to fruition. Aquaman is set to premiere on July 27, 2018.

5. Legends of Tomorrow: a crossover with Batman Beyond in Season 2?

Legends of Tomorrow is a time travel show, which means it could technically take place anywhere and anytime. But does that mean it could use its time-bending element to bring us a future Batman in Season 2? IGN recently posed the question to executive producer Marc Guggenheim who said that while a crossover with Batman Beyond is unlikely, anything’s possible in the world of DC Comics.

“I don’t think so, only because of DC’s plans for Batman … Look, I love Terry, and I love that whole Batman Beyond conceit. ‘Star City 2046’ was sort of our doffing of the cap to Batman Beyond in many, many ways, but you never know,” he said.

He went on to add that much of the show depends on what the fans want. “[Supergirl and The Flash] is a good example. At the beginning, no one thought it was gonna be possible, no one thought it would happen, and lo and behold, it happened,” he said. “I think as long as people are passionate and talking … clearly, you see that the powers-that-be do hear these things. What matters to the fans matters to them, so keep tweeting!”
