5 New Movie Trailers You Have to See This Week

This week was a big one for movie and TV trailers. Between the latest footage from Warner Bros.’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, a new sneak peek at Season 6 of Game of Thrones, and the first extended look at Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams, there were plenty of clips to discuss and speculate over. Here are five just-released trailers from this week that you don’t want to miss out on:

1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The third official full-length trailer for Warner Bros.’s highly anticipated upcoming DC Comics flick dropped this week, sparking an Internet frenzy. Though we’ve seen several clips for the film in the past, this footage was by far the most revealing. From the first close-up of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne to the confirmation of Doomsday as a villain, the trailer is jam-packed with new details that will get you even more pumped for the movie’s March 25 release next year. 2. Game of Thrones Season 6

HBO’s epic fantasy series is back with a new brief teaser for the upcoming sixth season. In the 40-second clip, Max von Sydow provides a voiceover as the Three-Eyed Raven, saying: “We watch, we listen, and we remember. The past is already written, the ink is dry.” As that line plays in the background, we see a montage of bloody images from the past five seasons, including the presumed death of Kit Harrison’s Jon Snow. But aside from confirming the return of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who sat out the last season, we still don’t know any more answers about Snow’s fate yet. GoT returns for its sixth season in April.

3. I Saw the Light

Thor star Tom Hiddleston captures both the look and sound of country music icon Hank Williams in the first full trailer for the upcoming biopic. The movie will chronicle the singer’s rocket rise to stardom, his life at home with wife Audrey Mae (played by Elizabeth Olsen), and his struggle to balance both. Those who only know Hiddleston as the Marvel villain Loki may be surprised to learn the actor has some serious vocal chops, as captured in the trailer. The movie hits theaters on March 25, 2016.

4. American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson

The first chapter of Ryan Murphy’s FX crime anthology American Crime Story goes behind the scenes of the trial that ended with NFL great Simpson getting acquitted of murder. The trailer reveals the first extended look at Cuba Gooding Jr. as the former football star, Sarah Paulson as district attorney Marcia Clark, and John Travolta as lead defense attorney Robert Shapiro. Also among the star-studded cast are David Schwimmer and Selma Blair as estranged spouses Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner. The show is set to premiere on February 2, 2016.

5. Eye in the Sky

Helen Mirren stars as a strict military colonel, Katherine Powell, who leads a secret drone mission to capture a terrorist group living in a safehouse in Nairobi, Kenya. When Powell learns that the group plans to carry out a suicide attack, her objective is changed to kill the terrorists. On her orders, drone pilot Steve Watt (Aaron Paul) targets the safehouse for destruction, and the plane is put in flux when a 9-year-old girl enters the kill zone. Alan Rickman, Barkhad Abdi, Jeremy Northam, and Phoebe Fox co-star in the thriller, which is due to hit theaters on March 11, 2016.
