‘Home Alone’

Is it really Christmas if you haven’t watched Home Alone? This 1990 flick is a must-watch during the holiday season. It features a young Macaulay Culkin, who plays Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who is left to fend for himself after his family forgets him at home and jets off on Christmas vacation.

The best part? Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Home Alone 3 are also on the platform for your viewing pleasure.

‘Miracle on 34th Street’

Our parents told us years ago that Santa Claus is not real. But what if he really exists? In 1947’s Miracle on 34th Street, a department store Santa Claus insists that he is the real deal. But convincing others isn’t so easy.

Critics have called the film one of the most timeless Christmas classics. IMDb describes the film as “a perfectly-cast Christmas confection that surpasses all expectations and really does make viewers laugh and tear up.” And The New York Times called it one of the best comedies of its time. In translation, you’ve gotta watch it.

‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) focuses on Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town. When Jack grows bored of throwing the town’s annual Halloween extravaganza, he tries to take over Christmas. He kidnaps Santa Claus and assumes his responsibilities. But trouble soon follows.

This Tim Burton classic has been praised by kids and adults alike. Stream it on Disney + now.

‘The Santa Clause’

If you’re ready for lots of laughs, look no further than this one. Starring Tim Allen, The Santa Clause (1994) is about a man who is tasked with passing out presents after he accidentally kills Santa. It was a box-office hit and earned glowing reviews on outlets such as Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb.

One review on IMDb says, “This movie is a holiday classic. Tim Allen is really funny, and the movie is non stop entertaining and fun.” Another adds, “This is a great, wholesome, funny flick that grown-ups and kidlets both can enjoy.”

Bonus: Its spinoffs are also on Disney+.

’12 Dates of Christmas’

12 Dates of Christmas premiered on ABC Family in 2011. It focuses on Kate, a hopeless romantic in search of true love. On Christmas Eve, Kate goes on a blind date, but she can’t get her mind off her ex-boyfriend. When a magic spell gets involved, Kate is forced to relive the date over and over again until she learns to accept what she’s been given. Will she? Or is she still repeating dates to this day?
