Here’s a wrap-up of all the rumors that have been abuzz in the entertainment world over the past week.
Harry Styles Not Leaving One Direction
Kodaline frontman Steve Garrigan started rumors of a One Direction breakup when he commented that he and Styles had been working on some solo material for a Styles side project. Speaking to Digital Spy at England’s Glastonbury festival, Garrigan said that, “We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun. It could be on his album if he does something, but I don’t know. Nothing is set in stone.”
The rumor that Styles was leaving One Direction got killed when the band’s rep issued a statement to E! News, saying: “There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time, any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs. It’s common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album.”
Beyoncé Lyric Change Ignites Cheating Rumors
Beyoncé and Jay Z are currently playing shows around the country on their first co-headlining tour, offering a rare opportunity for fans to see the power couple and frequent collaborators perform live in a non-awards show setting. Some lyric changes Beyoncé made during the song “Resentment” at the On the Run tour stop in Cincinnati on June 28 have ignited cheating rumors, as people are desperate for some scrap of evidence that Jay and Bey’s life isn’t as perfect as it seems.
The original lyrics to the song are: “I’ll always remember feeling like I was no good / Like I couldn’t do it for you like your mistress could / Been ridin’ with you for six years […] I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had half of me.” Beyoncé changed the words to “twelve years” — how long she and Jay have been together — and added “She ain’t even half of me. That bitch will never be,” singing all of this while wearing a bridal veil. Daily Mail has wildly speculated that Jay cheated with R&B singer Maya and even got someone to tell them that Jay is financially supporting the singer.
Disclosure to Team Up With Madonna
Electronic duo Disclosure have had massive success with their hit “Latch” featuring fellow up-and-comer Sam Smith, and they’ve apparently made a fan of pop legend Madonna, who’s been spotted at a couple of their recent gigs. Her Instagram photos of attending Disclosure’s shows have started rumors that she will collaborate with the band on her upcoming album.
“She came to our gig at Governors Ball,” Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence told Billboard, “and within a few hours, there were articles being written about how we were producing her album — and we had met her that day. How could we even have done that?” The duo didn’t deny that they might work with Madonna on her next album, and Billboard noted that she has posted other photos on Instagram of people she’s collaborated with.

Daniel Radcliffe in New Judd Apatow Film
Some photos were taken of Daniel Radcliffe on the set of Judd Apatow’s new movie Trainwreck this week, starting rumors that he will appear in the film, although the director is keeping quiet about the possibility. Indie Wire said that any role would likely be a cameo, given that Radcliffe is still starring in The Cripple of Inishmaan on Broadway. The photos show Radcliffe walking close to 10 dogs of all different sizes in Bryant Park. Then, others spotted him filming a scene with Marissa Tomei. “Dan to cameo in Trainwreck? Not true! He was just walking his dogs,” Apatow jokingly responded on Twitter.
Tina Fey Is Not Making a Hocus Pocus Sequel
Disney is working on a new witch movie, and it will star Tina Fey, but it’s not the sequel to the beloved Halloween cult classic Hocus Pocus that fans are hoping for. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Fey is attached to a new Disney project that will involve witches, but studio insiders are insistent that it won’t be in any way related to the 1993 film Hocus Pocus, starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker. Fey will also produce the movie alongside Allison Shearmur. While no writer has yet signed on, the sources who spoke to THR said Disney is looking to strike a Ghostbusters-esque tone with the film.
