5 Series to Binge-Watch on Netflix When You’re Under the Weather
With cold and flu season in full force, many of us are forced to spend some time out of the office and instead at home in bed. Since rest is required when you’re feeling sick, sometimes all you can do is stay on the couch to try and distract from your symptoms by watching TV. So, if you looking for something good to watch while you’re stuck indoors, here are five series to binge-watch on Netflix when you’re under the weather.
1. Breaking Bad
If you’re looking to take your mind off the fact you’re not feeling well, Breaking Bad is a good place to start. Starring Bryan Cranston as Walter White and Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, the show follows a chemistry teacher who was recently diagnosed with cancer turning to the meth business to provide for his family as well as pay for his treatments. This AMC series has been hailed as one of the best shows of all time, and it’s so fantastic that once you start you will not be able to stop.
2. House of Cards
A Netflix original series, House of Cards is a political thriller that will keep you hanging off the edge of your seat. Starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, and Kate Mara, this series shows the ugly side of politics and is completely and utterly intoxicating. With the second season set to be released on February 14, now is an excellent time to get caught up on what has been happening in the world of “politics.”
BBC’s Sherlock puts a fresh twist on a classic tale. Set in modern-day London, this addictive series puts you inside the mind of the intelligent, witty, and slightly abrasive ‘consulting’ detective. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, the only drawback to this fun show is that there are only three hour and a half episodes per season, so try and take your time with this one or you just might have withdrawals.
4. Family Guy
If laughter is the best medicine, the wildly popular Family Guy will get you back on your feet in no time. Created by Seth MacFarlane, this animated series about the Griffins has stood the test of time, with 11 full seasons currently on Netflix. While the show is filled with familiar voices like Mila Kunis and Seth Green, there has also been a slew of notable guest star appearances such as Drew Barrymore, Patrick Stewart, and Ryan Reynolds — just to name a few.
5. Orange is the New Black
Another Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman — a woman who is sentenced to prison for 15 months for a drug related crime she committed over a decade ago with her girlfriend. With season two projected to be released sometime in the spring, there is no better time to start this funny and critically acclaimed show that everyone can’t seem to stop talking about.
