’90 Day Fiancé’: Colt Johnson’s Mother Debbie Tells Vanessa That Jess Caroline Might Be in a ‘Hurry’ to Get Married
On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Colt Johnson and his mother, Debbie, have been in Brazil for a few episodes, and things have certainly gotten heated. Debbie and Jess Caroline, Colt’s girlfriend, have already had a fight at dinner with Jess’ family, and Debbie decides to speak with Vanessa Guerra about it. Vanessa is Colt’s friend that he also has a crush on. She’s also the woman that Jess told Colt not to talk to anymore. After Debbie speaks to Vanessa, she gets to work on causing a rift between her son and his new girlfriend.
Colt’s relationship with Vanessa
Vanessa is Colt’s friend who he met before he was even divorced from his ex-wife, Larissa Dos Santos Lima. They chatted online, and eventually decided to meet at a casino. He’s also admitted to the cameras that he slept with Vanessa, and that he has a crush on her.
Not surprisingly, Jess could kind of tell something was up, and she told Colt not to talk to Vanessa anymore, since she thought they were communicating way too frequently. However, Colt hasn’t actually stopped talking to Vanessa. In fact, she came over for dinner and shots right before they left for the trip to Brazil.
Debbie calls Vanessa to fill her in
Vanessa agrees to watch Colt and Debbie’s cats while they’re away in Brazil visiting Jess and her family. When Colt, Debbie, and Jess get to São Paulo, they head to their separate hotel rooms to freshen up. Debbie takes the time to call Vanessa to check on the cats and also fill her in on the drama in Brazil.
They ask how each other is doing, and Debbie doesn’t really hold back. But first, she asks about her cats. When Vanessa then asks about how Brazil is, Debbie tells her, “It’s going crazy here.”
Debbie tells Vanessa that Jess might be in a ‘hurry’ to get married
She goes on to reveal that she finally met Jess, and Vanessa asks how she is. “Seemed to be in a little hurry, about maybe her getting married,” Debbie says to Vanessa. “Her visa’s up in six months. She told her dad that she didn’t know when she’ll be seeing him again. If her visa’s up in six months, then I would think she’d be seeing him in six months.”
“No, something up there. I don’t trust that,” Vanessa says about the situation.
Debbie also mentions that Colt talked to Jess’ father off to the side, and she has her suspicions about the whole thing. “Colt met her dad and was talking to him on the side. I don’t know what he was asking him or what they were talking about. I asked Colt and he said they were talking about sports, but it didn’t look like they were talking about sports,” Debbie says to Vanessa.
When Vanessa asks Debbie what she thinks they were talking about, she says maybe he was asking permission to marry Jess. Debbie also gives a very brief summary of the dinner altercation. “You better try to put a stop to that or something,” Vanessa says to Debbie.
“You can’t take a mother away from her son,” Debbie tells the cameras. “If it’s a bad relationship, I will do everything in my power to sabotage his relationship.”
It’s clear that Debbie doesn’t want her son to make another mistake or to be in a “bad relationship,” and she’s willing to “sabotage” things to prevent that from happening.
