’90 Day Fiancé’: Could Ashley Martson’s Ex, Jay Smith Get Deported After Getting Arrested?
Ashley Martson and Jay Smith were on 90 Day Fiancé and got married after meeting in Jamaica. Their relationship has been rocky due to Smith cheating and now they’re getting divorced.
Smith was arrested, what does this mean for his status in the country? Here is everything you need to know.
Ashley Martson and Jay Smith split after he cheated
The couple got married, but it didn’t take long for that relationship to take a turn. Martson caught him talking to another woman on a dating app. She filed for divorce in January 2019 but withdrew it.
The reality show revealed that he cheated again after reconciling. The other woman called Martson and said, “I just wanted to call you and to basically kind of face this, apologize.” She added, “I had no idea that you and him were together.”
Martson has since filed for divorce again. She claimed that Smith hasn’t left her alone.
“He will be deported on August 7 unless he runs, which is what I’m assuming he’s probably [planning],” the reality star told John Yates on Instagram Live. “[Immigration and Customs Enforcement] has already been here to arrest him. They know where he works… I mean obviously if they come to my house at this point, I’m gonna tell them where he’s at. So I’m not sure why he’s still sticking around because we got a letter three weeks ago saying he has an active warrant for his arrest.” She filed a protection from abuse order (PFA) against him.
Smith was arrested for allegedly violating a Protection from Abuse Order
Upper Allen Township Police Department revealed that Smith, whose real name is Conroy Smith, was arrested July 3. The website claims he was investigated for violating the PFA order. He was then arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison.
“He’s in our custody,” a spokesperson from York County Prison told Radar Online. “He’s just getting put into the facility. It looks like he’s going to be going through the motions. He will see an immigration judge to see if he’ll be deported.”
Martson said there was abuse in their relationship
The Pennsylvania resident doesn’t feel bad for her ex. Her spokesperson, Johnny Donovan revealed to Us Weekly about how she feels about the situation.
“Ashley feels as though Jay made his own bed,” he said. “Ashley has been suffering for a long time — it’s payback. Jay thought she was joking, but no. He made his bed, and now he has to lie in it.”
He then reveals her plans for the time being. “Ashley is taking the weekend to focus on herself and on her kids. Ashley and Jay are due back in court this Tuesday and Wednesday.”
She also talked to Celebuzz about the arrest. “Our relationship has been very toxic from the beginning, and I just never did anything about it, because I knew if I contacted [the] police that Jay would be deported,” said Martson. “There was a lot of abuse going on in our relationship.”
Martson claimed he broke into her house while she was on vacation. She was then told by the police to file for a PFA.
