’90 Day Fiancé’: Deavan Clegg ‘Loses Her Temper’ Before Her Wedding to Jihoon Lee in Sneak Peek
In real time, most 90 Day Fiancé fans know that Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way have broken up and moved on. But, in a new sneak peek for an upcoming 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode, Jihoon and Deavan tied the knot in a large ceremony in 29-year-old Jihoon’s home country of South Korea.
Just before she walked down the aisle, 23-year-old Deavan had second thoughts – mainly because her wedding day wasn’t going at all how she envisioned.
Deavan was nervous as she prepared to marry Jihoon
In the newest 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way sneak peek, Deavan explained that she and Jihoon were already married on paper in his home country. Still, she had always wanted a more formal wedding to “make it official.”
Jihoon told producers he was excited and nervous at the same time, but his bride didn’t seem to feel as enthralled as he did about their big day.
While Deavan said she was grateful that Jihoon’s parents had set up the event, it wasn’t exactly her dream scenario. Instead, she described it as a “factory-style wedding” somewhat like a wedding chapel, in which couples only had access to the venue for 45 minutes total.
“Once you’re done, you have to leave, and then ‘boom,’ the next bride comes in,” the 90 Day Fiancé star explained, sounding stressed and exhausted.
She added that she wasn’t even sure about the usual customs – such as if she was supposed to bow or not, or whether she and Jihoon would kiss at the altar. The unfamiliar setting left her feeling a little lost and overwhelmed.
The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star admitted she was ‘disappointed’
As Deavan prepped for her wedding, she told TLC producers she finally felt like it was “real” when she donned her bridal gown. While she felt beautiful in it, the mom of two admitted she had mixed emotions – especially because she hadn’t had any hand in planning the event.
“Your wedding day is supposed to be your special day,” she lamented. But the day didn’t feel very special for her, at least not yet. The cookie-cutter environment frustrated her, and she felt too rushed to enjoy every moment as she’d imagined.
“My wedding day is something I’ve thought about my entire life, and it’s just not anything I imagined for my wedding day,” Deavan said sadly. “That’s kind of disappointing.”
Things got even worse when Deavan and her parents were told they had to hurry things along because there was another bride behind her who needed to get ready for her own wedding. The 90 Day Fiancé star grew more and more visibly frustrated as she hastily prepared to wed Jihoon.
Her mom, Elicia Clegg, said the stress was clearly wearing Deavan down.
“There’s another bride, and because it’s a chain, it makes everything that much more tense,” Elicia told TLC producers, “and Deavan is losing her temper.”
Jihoon and Deavan’s wedding ultimately went off without a hitch
Despite the frustrations of the day and the venue, Deavan and Jihoon’s wedding was ultimately a special moment for both of them. Jihoon was in awe of his bride as she walked down the aisle with her dad.
“When I see Deavan walking down the aisle…Yeah, that’s my girl!” Jihoon gushed. “She looks like an angel from heaven.”
After exchanging vows in a short ceremony, Jihoon and Deavan even shared a first dance at the venue.
“Even though it hasn’t been an easy day, when I see Jihoon, I feel like I’m making the right decision right now, and that makes it all worth it,” Deavan told 90 Day Fiancé producers. She added that she didn’t even know what it meant to love anyone before she met her husband – and now, she felt like she finally understood.
