’90 Day Fiancé’: Does Michael Jessen Regret Doing the Show?

90 Day Fiancé star Michael Jessen has not been happy with TLC and Sharp Entertainment lately. The newcomer to the show has been vocal about his frustration with 90 Day Fiancé and its editing practices. After a scene featuring his ex-wife was allegedly manipulated to look awkward, Jessen was then supposedly placed into a “manufactured” scenario regarding a prenup with his new love, Juliana Custodio. Now, Michael Jessen seems to be wondering if appearing on the show was worth all the trouble.

During an episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Juliana Custodio and Michael Jessen visited Michael’s ex-wife, Sarah Jessen. The three had dinner together, and discussed what their future as a blended family might look like.

However, according to Sarah Jessen, the scene was edited irresponsibly, and she was made out to look like the bad guy. During the scene, viewers watch Sarah Jessen say, “The kids have great parents. Michael is a great father and I’m a great mom. And what I want from you is to not parent, at all.”

At first, it seemed as if Sarah was laying down the law against Juliana Custodio. However, Sarah took to Facebook to clear things up. She wrote, “[T]he ‘I don’t want you to parent’ comment was cut mid-sentence. What they edited out was the reason I have her which was ‘you’re adjusting to a new home, a new country and have a new relationship. I don’t want you to feel the added stress of feeling the responsibility of trying to parent Max and Cece.’”

“Juliana and I are EXTREMELY close and I hope the producers will end up showing how our relationship has evolved and you will stay tuned with an open mind and heart,” she added.

Michael Jessen speaks out about prenup scene

Now, it seems as if editing has struck again. Or at least, that’s what Michael Jessen says. According to the 90 Day Fiancé star, he and Juliana Custodio were placed in a “manufactured” scenario during which their discussion of a possible prenup was exploited for dramatic purposes.

In an Instagram post, Jessen wrote, “This is the biggest bunch of manufactured bullsh*t…. shame on you Sharp Entertainment and TLC.”

During an Instagram Live session, Jessen said, “It’s been a little difficult for us, to be quite honest. You know, look, it’s a reality TV show. We’re not paid actors. There’s certainly a lot of liberties that are taken in the filming of this and that’s all well and good and it’s fun and games but I gotta say, Sarah and Juliana and myself, we appreciate all the positivity and support because we are living real lives here.”

He added, “ … it’s something where I feel like I need to call a little bit of bullsh*t because it’s not really who we are. It’s not really reflective of our reality.”

Does Michael Jessen regret appearing on ‘90 Day Fiancé’?

Michael Jessen went on to say that he is having some second thoughts about his decision to take his relationship to 90 Day Fiancé and TLC.

“Was this the right decision for us to make? I don’t know. That remains to be seen, okay. We don’t know. Here we are, we’re halfway through the season and we’re at an arc in the narrative that I’m sure the network and the production company is happy with. Unfortunately, it’s just, there’s a fine line,” said Jessen.

He then added, “…This is still our real lives. But when there’s such distortions of concepts that are happening in our life and end up not only misrepresenting who we are but actually affecting our lives, that’s something that becomes upsetting.”
