’90 Day Fiancé’: Elizabeth Potthast Wonders If There Will Always Be ‘Constant Tension’ Between Andrei Castravet and Her Family
On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Elizabeth Potthast Castravet and Andrei Castravet have finally gotten married for the second time in Moldova. However, the trip has been eventful for all the wrong reasons. There has been tension from the start, considering Elizabeth’s family tries to get questions answered about Andrei’s mysterious past.
At one point, Andrei and Charlie, Elizabeth’s brother, even get in each other’s faces, and things almost get physical. All the drama is causing issues between Elizabeth and Andrei, but the wedding still takes place anyways, and it’s a beautiful ceremony. But, the wedding reception is eventful for all the wrong reasons.
Elizabeth Potthast’s brother gives a memorable speech
After getting married, the couple heads to their reception that’s filled with their guests. There’s a large spread of food at every table, and professional dancers and musicians to entertain them.
Throughout the evening, there are scenes of Elizabeth’s brother, Charlie, holding a glass and drinking from it. At one point, Elizabeth even asks if he’s eaten after he takes a sip of his drink. She tells him not to drink “that much,” and he walks away.
Chuck, Elizabeth’s father, makes a nice speech while he has the microphone, but Charlie reaches for it and makes his opinions known.
“Get your s*** together,” Charlie says to Andrei.
“Enough,” Andrei replies back.
But it only continues. “Don’t ask my dad for s***,” Charlie tells him. “OK?” Andrei wants the microphone to go to someone else, but Charlie says, “No. Come to America and earn your s***.”
Luckily, Elizabeth is smart enough to start clapping, which gets everyone else involved as well. With tensions running high, Andrei finds Charlie in the crowd, and they talk outside.
“You trying to fight me in Moldova?” Charlie asks him.
However, Andrei wants them to stop having issues, at least for tonight. “I promised my wife that I’m not going to be bad tonight,” Andrei says. “We need to cease fire for tonight. We’re not going to be friends tonight. OK? We’re not going to be friends maybe for life. We’ll figure it out but not tonight. We’re doing this for our beloved. That’s your sister.”
‘Like, if it’s not Charlie, and my dad, and Jenn misbehaving, it’s Andrei misbehaving’
However, once they’re back inside, Charlie is still talking about it with his father. “They’re already married,” Charlie says. “And you’re still paying for their s***.” Even Elizabeth gets involved, and tries to calm her brother down.
“When I saw Andrei ask my brother to step outside to talk to him, I was expecting to see someone punch somebody in the face,” Elizabeth tells the cameras. “Like, if it’s not Charlie, and my dad, and Jenn misbehaving, it’s Andrei misbehaving. Can we just have like one day where we don’t do that? Just one day. If not our wedding day, then when the f*** is it gonna happen?”
Elizabeth wonders if there will always be ‘constant tension’ between Andrei and her family
Andrei and Elizabeth go outside, and Chuck follows. Andrei asks to talk to Chuck, and he actually apologizes to him about the past after saying he’s on his “best behavior.” However, Chuck is still unsure about things.
With all the drama going on at Elizabeth’s wedding, she wonders if there will always be “constant tension” between her family and Andrei. “A part of me worries that what if my family never gets along with my husband?” Elizabeth tells the cameras. “Like, what if they always have this constant tension and drama and negativity? Like what if it doesn’t end?”
Later, it’s time for Elizabeth and Andrei to talk separately. Andrei tells his wife that he promised her he would behave, and he did. Elizabeth admits that her brother is “drunk.” But Elizabeth tells him that he needs to “get along” with her family because it’s the only family he has in America.
Andrei reveals to Elizabeth that he apologized to her father, and that they “buried the hatchet.” However, when it comes to Charlie and Jenn, Elizabeth’s sister, it’s different. “On the other hand, I will not be able to have a smooth future with your sister and your brother if they’re acting like this,” Andrei tells his wife.
He goes on to say he loves her, and Elizabeth says she loves him too. She cries, and says she doesn’t want anyone to “fight.”
It’s unclear what the future holds for Andrei’s relationship with Elizabeth’s family. Only time will tell if they can smooth things over.
