90 Day Fiancé couple Kenneth and Armando have been giving fans hope among a bevy of other dramatic, failing couples. The two seem to have a genuine love for one another, and are trying to bridge gaps in their relationship as they work together to be the best fathers they can for their respective children. However, fans have noticed that Kenneth’s Spanish is a little lacking. In fact, they’re asking Kenneth to step up and spend more time embracing Armando’s native language.
Kenneth met Armando’s family in Mexico
90 Day Fiancé stars Kenneth and Armando were somewhat nervous about having Kenneth meet Armandos’ family. At first, it seemed as if Armando Sr. wasn’t going to be willing to meet Kenneth, due to his personal hangups.
Eventually, the family was able to convince him to come outside and shake Kenneth’s hand. While this may have been something of a big step for his father, Kenneth was left feeling somewhat let down when he went back inside and secluded himself after the single greeting.
“I know that there’s a lot to overcome for Armando’s father, to accept me, but I hope he will give me a chance. That’s all I’m really asking for, is a chance,” Kenneth told cameras.
“I wish there would have been more interaction with my dad. I wish he would have given Kenny more of a chance to introduce himself and for him to see for himself the person Kenny is. But, I know my dad. He’s having a tough time with this,” added Armando.
‘90 Day Fiancé’ fans want Kenneth to step up
In a rather big move, Kenneth decided to join Armando in Mexico, and the two found a home together in La Misión. However, Kenneth’s very limited Spanish skills have been frustrating both Armando and 90 Day Fiancé fans alike.
“It does kind of feel like I’m having to care for two people right now, not only Hannah but Kenny not knowing how to communicate. At certain points, it gets a little frustrating because he’s the one that’s living in a Spanish speaking country,” said Armando on the show.
Fans pointed out that the two have been dating long-distance for quite some time, and that Kenny has had ample time to start learning Spanish. They feel as if he might not be putting in enough work in that regard.
“It pains me to see him get offended when people around him don’t speak English. He is the one who moved to a Spanish speaking country to be the step parent to a Spanish speaking child,” pointed out one Redditor.
For crying out loud I’ve learned more off Duolingo in a few days than he knows. I am not in love with someone that speaks Spanish nor do I need to co-parent a Spanish speaking child either…come on bruh at least TRY,” added a user in another thread.
The ‘90 Day Fiancé’ couple was denied a marriage certificate
Unfortunately for the 90 Day Fiancé couple, things took a surprisingly unfortunate turn. The two were denied a marriage license in Mexico.
“In this case, we have a law that states, ‘No you, can’t.’ And we have a constitution that says, ‘Yes, you can.’ Sadly, we don’t have legislation that supports us to reform our code. The one that says we still can’t allow same-sex marriage to go through,” explained the clerk on the show.
“I did look up online and it did say gay marriage was legal in the state. I’m really not understanding all that she’s saying, because things seem to contradict each other. In reality, I’m confused myself,” confessed Armando.
“I don’t think even seven words were spoken and it was ‘denied.’ It wasn’t even a discussion. That’s their protocol — to deny you right away,” Kenneth added.
