’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Blast Nicole Nafziger For Choosing to Stay With Azan Instead of Watching May Grow Up
Fans are once again outraged at 90 Day Fiancé star Nicole Nafziger. At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the reality star left her daughter, May, behind to travel to Morocco to see her fiancé, Azan Tefou. Nicole has taken a lot of heat for abandoning her daughter in Florida amid a global crisis, especially after she has had several opportunities to return home. With Nicole still living in Morocco, 90 Day Fiancé fans have once again bashed her missing out on May’s childhood.
Is Nicole stuck in Morocco?
In March, Nicole decided to fly out to Morocco to spend a few weeks with Azan. As the coronavirus pandemic got worse, countries began shutting down their borders in a bid to contain the outbreak.
Nicole soon found herself stuck in Morocco and unable to book a traditional flight home. To help Americans like Nicole, the embassy in Morocco offered to pay for special flights to the United States. The only catch is that passengers were required to pay the money back at a later date.
Although she has had several opportunities to return to Florida, the 90 Day Fiancé star declined to have the government front the money for a plane ticket. Instead, she has remained in Morocco with Azan while her mother, Robbalee Nafziger, has been looking after her daughter in Florida.
Fans have criticized Nicole for leaving her daughter during a pandemic. Her followers also haven’t appreciated her frequent posts about her and Azan, and her latest post has sparked even more outrage among the 90 Day Fiancé community.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans think she is missing out on May’s early development
Taking to Instagram, Nicole recently shared a photo of a drawing from her daughter. The 90 Day Fiancé star wrote “look at those art skills” alongside the image and also noted that she is “so proud” of May.
But fans were quick to notice that the drawing featured a dark figure in the background. Some people speculated that the person represented Nicole, who is no longer around.
One of her followers noted that “children do grow up way too fast” and warned the reality star that kids “are only those young ages for a very short time.” Other 90 Day Fiancé fans commented about how Nicole is clearly missing out on some quality time with her daughter.
Nicole has not responded to the latest criticisms surrounding her decision to remain in Morocco. Nicole has previously explained how the price of tickets to fly home is way out of her budget, which is why she hasn’t purchased one.
Nicole’s mother comes to her defense
While fans continue to bash Nicole on social media, her mom recently came to her defense. In the comment section of one of her posts, Robbalee assured 90 Day Fiancé fans that Nicole has not abandoned her daughter and that May is spending quality “time with her grandparents.”
“There was no abandonment,” she stated. “[May] is getting to spend time with her grandparents while her mommy is away. There is a lot more to this story than a simple answer.”
Robbalee added that she is very “grateful” for the extra time she is getting with May. She also revealed that Nicole often Facetimes May and the two watch TV shows together.
She then stated that traveling to Florida is a dangerous proposition at the moment. Coronavirus cases have surged in the area and Nicole would be taking a big chance flying to Florida in the coming weeks.
Robbalee did not say when Nicole plans on coming home, but she did hint that her daughter will be back in Florida once it is safe. Considering how things are going, that could be a long time.
What does the ’90 Day Fiancé’ star have to say about the drama?
Following her mother’s kind words, Nicole shared a photo of her mom on social media. The reality star thanked Robbalee for taking care of her daughter and assured her followers that she has the “best mom” in the world.
“Missing my mom so much,” she shared. “She is the best mom and grandma out there. Thank you for taking care of my little girl since I can’t come back home yet.”
Nicole then fired back at the criticisms she has faced in recent weeks. The 90 Day Fiancé star told fans that they should “stop judging” her life and the decisions she makes. She also said that she knows fans will not stop trolling her online, which is a fair point.
New episodes of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise air Sunday and Monday nights on TLC.
