‘90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Think Caleb Is ‘Fetishizing’ Alina’s Condition

Alina, a Russian model with a rare medical condition called Diastrophic Dysplasia, is the franchise’s first little person and stands around three feet tall. Many 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days fans are calling out Caleb for fetishizing Alina’s condition.
Caleb brings a whole box of condoms on trip to visit Alina
On the Dec 19 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Alina arrives in Turkey and waits for Caleb. Meanwhile, he’s preparing for his trip by packing his bag. Caleb’s suitcase is filled with protein powder and supplements, along with the essentials. In addition, he packs a large box of condoms and tarot cards.
Caleb tells the cameras, “I’m bringing condoms too, just to be safe. I’m not trying to force things. I really want to see what feels organic, but, you know, I’m seeing her for two weeks. Anything can happen.”
He says, “Despite my religious upbringing, I’m a pretty sexually open person, so I’m excited, but a little bit anxious because, with Alina, a lot of the things you take for granted in regular size sex are off the table. Like, you can’t make out and have sex. They’re either on you, or they’re up here. So I really don’t know what to expect.”
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans think that Caleb is ‘fetishizing’ Alina
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans are concerned that Caleb will hurt Alina because he’s only in it for the sex. On the other hand, Alina is a lot more emotionally involved than Caleb seems to be.
On Reddit, one fan commented about how they feel that Caleb is merely fetishizing Alina because she’s a little person. They wrote, “I get the feeling that this is one of those guys who makes sexuality a big part of his personality ala Sinjin and that he is only fetishizing her condition.”
Another fan agreed, commenting, “100% agree he is only pursuing her to add a little person to his sex accomplishments. I hate this for Alina. She seems wonderful.”
What is Alina’s rare condition, Diastrophic Dysplasia?
On the Dec 12 episode, Alina explained her rare condition to 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cameras. She explained, “It’s a form of dwarfism. It’s rare, and it affects everyone differently. For a child to be born with this type of dwarfism, both parents have to be carriers of the gene. It can affect your joints and, of course, your stature. My hands and my feet look pretty different too, but I don’t think the disability is a problem. In many areas of my life, I try to do everything, really.”
Alina isn’t letting her condition hold her back. She revealed, “I’m pretty comfortable in my body. I’ve already accepted the fact that I don’t look like everyone else, and I’m just trying to rock what I have. But there are things that are hard to do. With my hands, it’s a bit hard to do some things because my fingers don’t really bend. I can’t walk a lot. So, I use a wheelchair for longer distances.”
