’90 Day Fiance’ Fans Think Sumit Might Already Be Married
90 Day Fiancé fans aren’t so sure about Sumit and Jenny anymore. At first, man fans were excited for the couple. It seemed as if the two have grown close, committed, and truly in love — despite an initial deception from Sumit.
However, as their story develops, some fans aren’t feeling totally on board with Sumit and his intentions anymore. Sumit seems terrified about his family discovering his true intentions with Jenny — and to that end, left Jenny alone in India for an extended period of time while he assuaged his family’s fears.
Now, some fans are floating a theory that Sumit might be deceiving Jenny in an even bigger way — and they’re not happy.
Sumit catfished Jenny
Sumit and Jenny originally communicated via Facebook. However, Jenny was operating under the assumption that Sumit was someone else entirely. Sumit advertised himself on Facebook as a male model named Michael Jones.
As the two communicated, they gradually developed feelings for one another. Once Sumit realized he was falling in love with Jenny, he decided he had to come clean. He told the U.S.-based grandmother that he was actually an Indian man living with his parents in Delhi, and that he worked in a call center, not as a male model.
Jenny wasn’t deterred, however. She forgave Sumit for his deception, and decided to meet him in India after all. During an episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Jenny told the cameras, “You know, what you do for love, sometimes is unbelievable. I think that everyone is entitled to happiness… I didn’t really think I would find love again, to tell you the truth.”
Unfortunately, Sumit’s parents had different feelings about his relationship with Jenny.
Sumit’s family does not approve
Unfortunately for the 90 Day Fiancé couple, Sumit’s parents are less than approving of his relationship with Jenny. A large portion of their disapproval seems to stem from the fact that Jenny is 30 years Sumit’s senior — in fact, she’s actually older than Sumit’s own mother.
Sumit kept his relationship with Jenny hidden from his family at first. Once he showed up with Jenny, Sumit’s mother told Sumit that either she or Jenny had to go. Sumit decided to move out, and the two moved in together.
Recently, however, Sumit had to pretend to his family that he actually moved for work reasons. He visited home recently, leaving Jenny alone in a foreign country with limited language skills, in order to convince his parents that nothing was amiss. As of now, it seems they’re still unaware he’s living with Jenny.
“He had to go back to his family’s house, so I’m just kind of by myself in the apartment now,” Jenny said to the camera at the time.
Sumit has a secret
Now, it’s come out that Sumit has another secret he’s hiding. He hasn’t revealed it to viewers of Jenny yet, so naturally, fans are speculating as to what the 90 Day Fiancé star could be hiding.
On Reddit, fans discussed what they thought the secret might be. One user wrote, “It’s not his parents, he’s going to see it’s his other wife.”
Another wrote, “Arranged marriage for sure!”
One user backed up that idea, saying, “Good call on the arranged marriage. Would explain all the travel to his parents.”
If Sumit does have an arranged marriage in the cards, things aren’t looking good. A user mentioned that they feel pity for his betrothed if that is the case. “I already feel bad for Sumit’s betrothed. She is fixed up with a known international catfisher, who is hiding out with an old muppet who behaves like a child,” they wrote.
Another fan theory holds that he’s not just betrothed but already married. Hopefully, Sumit will reveal his secret to Jenny soon, whatever it may be.
