’90 Day Fiancé’: Geoffrey Paschel Explains Absence From Tell-All
90 Day Fiancé fans were surprised when Geoffrey Paschel’s erstwhile love, Varya, showed up to visit Paschel despite their seeming split. To make matters more suspicious, Paschel was notably absent during the tell-all. Paschel has a checkered past when it comes to criminal history, with accusations of abuse against him. Some fans were wondering if that had anything to do with his absence. Now, Paschel is dishing on what went down — at least, according to him.
Was Varya showing up staged?
90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Paschel knows fans think that Varya showing up was a scripted event. However, Paschel claims that’s not the case at all. He says he was just as surprised as the viewers when he saw her.
During an interview with Domenick Nati, Paschel explained, “This was a complete surprise, one-hundred percent, I hear people saying, ‘This was so staged, this was so fake.’ Completely, I was caught in the moment, you saw my sh*t-eating grin on. I was like, I didn’t know what to do.”
“It was completely in that moment and Mary was still at my house from the night before, so,” laughed Paschel.
“So the doorbell rang, and I thought it was production cause they were gonna film some b-roll or whatever. The thing about it is, they had no idea Mary was there. They had zero idea. So there was no communication in that because they were tending to Varya, bringing Varya out, filming Varya,” explained Paschel.
Geoffrey Paschel has a checkered past
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans were upset with TLC for having Geoffrey Paschel on the show. The reason for their anger lies behind Paschel’s criminal history. The newly minted reality star has a history of abuse accusations levied against him by his exes.
In June of 2019, Paschel was arrested following charges laid out against him by his ex-girlfriend. The police received a call for help from Paschel’s girlfriend, who claimed he was assaulting her and preventing her from making an emergency call.
In court documents, Paschel’s ex said, “He repeatedly bashed/slammed my head into the hardwood floors of my home. He dragged me through the house by my hair and continued throwing my body into walls and furniture. I know this because of blood on my walls, furniture, etc.”
The police report corroborates many of her claims. When she was admitted to the hospital, she was found to have a concussion. Officers “observed a large raised bruise on [her] forehead and abrasions on her elbows and knees.”
Geoffrey Paschel dishes on tell-all absence
It seems as though fans got the result they were hoping for. TLC had finally owned up to their mistake and dropped Geoffrey Paschel from the tell-all as a result of his past, and Paschel is not happy about it.
Like many men accused of assault, Paschel blames the current social climate and the #metoo movement for people’s anger against him.
The 90 Day Fiancé star told Nati, “I feel that the network has bowed down to the pressure of a few thousand people as opposed to the, you know, 3.3 million people that watch the show. Which is unfortunate, we’re in a different time now, the whole #metoo movement or whatever. So there’s a lot of pressure to cower to the minority, and wanting to make sure they’re not making the wrong decision.”
He added, “There’s a lot on my mind, and I’m gonna release my own tell-all, you know on my YouTube channel. So you know, subscribe. And I’m gonna let it all be known there.”
