’90 Day Fiancé’: Jay Smith Dishes on ICE Detainment After Release

90 Day Fiancé stars Jay Smith and Ashley Martson have been taking fans for a wild ride during the last several months. As their divorce continued to be a point of contention — Martson claims Smith refuses to sign the papers — Smith was arrested and held by ICE following a violated court order.

Now, Smith has been released from ICE custody, and he’s finally breaking his silence about his arrest.

Turning himself in

90 Day Fiancé star Jay Smith actually turned himself in to the authorities. It all started when Smith made a bad choice — while Ashley Martson was on vacation, Smith had broken into her property. Martson decided to take out a Protection from Abuse order against Smith.

This order required that Smith not discuss Martson or the order itself on social media under any circumstances. However, Smith immediately violated the order by posting about it to his Instagram story. This resulted in a warrant out for his arrest.

It seems as if Martson might have known what was in store for Smith following the violation. She had previously told Instagrammer John Yates, “[Immigration and Customs Enforcement] has already been here to arrest him. They know where he works… I mean obviously if they come to my house at this point, I’m gonna tell them where he’s at. So I’m not sure why he’s still sticking around because we got a letter three weeks ago saying he has an active warrant for his arrest.”

Now, Smith has been released from ICE custody, and the controversial 90 Day Fiancé star is ready to dish. Smith was bailed out by his boss to the tune of $4,500. Smith then took to social media to post a length message about his month-long stay in ICE custody.

Smith wrote, “This past month had been very eye opening for me, I’ve lost & I’ve gain but most of all I’ve learnt ALOT!!!” he wrote. “This situation had made me realized all who are with me & all who are against me and I’ve been given a second chance and I will make the best of it to my ability, and I’ll start by expressing my deep appreciation for all the help and support I’ve gotten from my FAMILIES, LOVE ONE, ATTORNEYS, BOSS/COWORKERS, FRIENDS and to all my FOLLOWERS and PERSONS that PRAYED for me and also donated to my GOFUNDME campaign, I am beyond grateful and without your help i would not have been a free man today (sic).”

However, it seems Smith couldn’t let it all go without a barb pointed at Martson. He also wrote, “One last thanks to the people who walked in my life and made it better and thanks to the ones that walked out and made it AMAZING.”

After his release, Martson told InTouch Weekly, “I just hope he learned his lesson and respects any future woman he chooses to be with.”

She added, “His deportation hearing hasn’t been announced but will be shortly. For now he’s is out on bail on $4,500 which his boss paid. He just needs to keep his distance and him and I will be fine.”

He’s got a new love in his life

It turns out the woman who was running Jay Smith’s GoFundMe page while he was incarcerated, Kayla O’Brien, is his new girlfriend. The two are Instagram official. Martson claims that O’Brien is actually a stripper that Smith went to go see frequently. She said of his new girlfriend, “[Kayla] used to be a stripper and she has changed her career over to a bottle service girl now.”

O’Brien told InTouch, “I was not a stripper first that converted to a bottle girl, I have actually always been a bottle girl lol it’s funny how much stuff she makes up by herself.”

Martson additionally told Us Weekly, “He was going to the strip club, like, many times a week. … Then someone had alerted me that, like, he was talking to one of the girls in there.”
