’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Paola Mayfield Says Nurses and Doctors Are Writing Her ‘Nasty’ Comments Due to Her Pandemic Response
“I posted nurses doing a dance, like choreography, on TikTok and one of my captions was like, ‘I think this is enough,'” she said in an interview with The Domenick Nati Show on May 17 of her post that received backlash.
Paola says people on Instagram are twisting her words.
“I wasn’t expecting that I was going to get so much hate because my intentions were not trying to bash doctors or nurses that they don’t have their right to actually have fun. I think sometimes I have to go deep to explain it because people can turn my words and that’s what they did,” she said.
Paola Mayfield explains her controversial post
So what is Paola’s point? She says making a TikTok takes time. Too much time for busy doctors and nurses.
“What I was saying in my whole point was that the media was showing nurses and doctors are not able to go home and that they’re so busy and like you see them working so hard and we do appreciate it. But then you go to social media and you see these types of videos,” she said.
Paola continued: “And I have to tell you I have a TikTok and I don’t have anything against that but doing a TikTok, it takes time. And doing a dance it takes way too much time unless you have dancing skills but seeing doctors and nurses doing choreography takes so much time and then the media is telling you something different it makes you question what is actually happening.”
It should be noted that, based on the comments Paola is receiving, it does seem that Instagram users understand the reality star’s point.
The backlash Paola has received from nurses, doctors, and their loved ones
This reaction to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has upset a lot of Paola’s followers, particularly doctors, nurses, and their family members.
“They say, ‘Karma is a b*tch so I hope nothing happens to you because you’re probably gonna end up needing a nurse and you’re not gonna have the help you need.’ There was another lady, a doctor’s wife, she said so many nasty things it’s hard to keep up,” she said of the messages she’s been receiving.
The 90 Day Fiancé star says she’s shocked by the comments and DMs she’s gotten lately.
“To be a nurse or a doctor, they’re supposed to be actually helping, saving lives, not wishing harm upon anybody,” she said.
Paola says she’s been “quarantining” with her husband for the past two months.
