’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Larissa Dos Santos Lima Dishes on Battle With Depression and Anxiety
Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Colt Johnson had one of the most tumultuous relationships in 90 Day Fiancé history. The couple is divorced now, after Lima attacked Colt Johnson several times, earning herself a criminal record of domestic abuse.
However, Lima and Johnson have both moved on from their stormy marriage, finding love again elsewhere — and it seems Johnson might even be getting ready to pop the question to his new girlfriend.
Now, Lima is ready to open up about her battle with depression and anxiety, which she claims began after her first arrest for domestic violence.
Booked on domestic abuse
Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Colt Johnson met in Mexico, and were rapidly married — the 90 Day Fiancé stars waited only five days to tie the knot after meeting up. Unfortunately, the honeymoon period was short-lived for the two.
It wasn’t long before Lima started showing her aggressive side. It remains unclear how much Johnson knew about Lima’s propensity towards violence before they got married, but it was soon clear that she has no qualms about using her fists to get what she wants.
Lima was arrested twice in 2018 for domestic abuse, as well as once more in January 2019. Her 2019 arrest saw her booked for misdemeanor domestic violence in Nevada after an attack on Colt Johnson. Jay Rivera of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said of the event, “[Colt] had a swollen lip, and his gums and teeth were bloodied.” He clarified that Lima was the aggressor in this altercation.
Lima finds love again, so does Johnson
After their stormy marriage, both 90 Day Fiancé stars were able to find love once more — and it soon became clear that Colt Johnson might have a type.
Johnson is now dating Jess Caroline, another Brazilian woman. Lima said of his new relationship, “I’m happy for him. Colt love him Brazilians now.”
Meanwhile, Lima has found love again with a man named Eric Nichols. Lima posted a picture for Nichols’ birthday with the caption, “Today is Eric(ee) birthday, I gave along of these almost 3 months so many compliments and he knows how much mean to me. Eric is a good son, brother and boyfriend always making everyone laugh. Eric happy birthday, may God bless and we can soon celebrate your new house and the first million… You are very special.”
Lima told Us Weekly, “We met on Tinder. He never watched the show… I just wanted company… Right now, I don’t rush anything. I don’t want to make plans. I’m enjoying myself and we are serious, of course… I feel really comfortable with him.”
Lima dishes on anxiety and depression
According to Lima, her battles with anxiety and depression began after she was arrested in June 2018 for domestic violence.
According to The Blast, Lima wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, “I was devastated, emotionally exhausted, and my entire body ached from depression.”
The 90 Day Fiancé star went on to add, “Sometimes, I was filmed while being on pain killers. I couldn’t move, do basic activities, or take care of myself.”
Lima is seeing the developments in her life from a constructive light. “I now see that my being [arrested] was a blessing, as l have the knowledge now to give back in a way that would not [have] been possible if it didn’t happen to me,” she wrote.
