’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’: What We Learned From the Tell-All Part 1
This season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has been endlessly eventful. What with infidelity, legal issues, multiple babies on the way, and potential breakups, there’s been no shortage of drama. Last night’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell-All Part 1 on Oct. 14 was no exception.
Let’s dig into the details, from who was there and who wasn’t to cheating accusations and potential divorces.
Who was at the Tell-All?
As 90-Day Fiancé cast members drifted in to the Tell-All, hosted by Shaun Robinson, there were some noticeable absences. Corey Rathbeger’s fiance Evelin Villegas, Laura Jallali’s husband Aladin Jallali, and Tiffany Franco’s husband Ronald Smith all appeared by video chat.
Out of all the foreign spouses and spouses-to-be, only Jihoon Lee, Deavan Clegg’s husband, was present in person. Paul Staehle’s wife Karine Staehle was at home with the baby and unable to attend, while Jenny Slatten was unsure whether her mysterious (and married!) fiance Sumit would call in at all.
There was conflict between the cast members
As soon as the reunion began, it was clear that there was more than a little trouble in paradise. Deavan and Jihoon both accused each other of being unromantic, while Jenny said she was shocked to find out that Sumit was married throughout their relationship.
Laura said that Aladin had completely changed in recent days and that she didn’t know where their relationship was headed.
The drama on Part 1 of the 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All wasn’t just between the couples. There was tension between some of the cast members, too.
Right off the bat, Corey stepped out of his usual passive role to call out Tiffany for staying with Ronald despite his gambling addiction, even suggesting that Ronald was only with Tiffany for a green card.
Ronald pushed back, saying that he had nothing to prove to anyone but Tiffany. “The only woman I have to prove anything to is right there,” he insisted, pointing to his wife.
Evelin’s criticism of Tiffany
Evelin, too, suggested that Tiffany had put her son Daniel in danger by bringing him to South Africa during her pregnancy. For her part, Tiffany held her own, telling Corey of Ronald, “He’s never been unfaithful to me,” calling out Evelin’s cheating.
On social media, Deavan (who recently went through a painful miscarriage of her own) has recently spoken out against Laura’s allegedly false pregnancy announcement, claiming she did it for attention. We’ll have to see whether their offscreen drama carries over to next week’s Tell-All Part 2.
Evelin and Corey’s infidelity drama
90 Day Fiancé : The Other Way fans have been skeptical of Evelin’s commitment to Corey since the beginning, and last night’s reunion special didn’t do much to change that. While Corey insisted that they’d be married within six months, Evelin said that she wasn’t willing to get married until Corey became more financially secure, lost some weight, and learned more Spanish.
Cast members also suggested that Evelin was using Corey for his money. He admitted that he’d sunk between $40,000 and $50,000 into the relationship so far, including investments in businesses that have yet to show much profit.
Raul made a shocking revelation
Perhaps the biggest revelation of the night, though, was Raul’s call-in to the show. Despite having built a friendship with Corey in Ecuador, Evelin’s former fling Raul revealed that he’d had feelings for Evelin for years.
TLC producers revealed footage that suggested Raul had been trying to break Evelin and Corey up all along. Corey took the news hard, especially since Evelin cheated on him with her ex just last year.
No matter what happens, it’s clear that Evelin and Corey are on shaky ground as a couple.
Will Aladin and Laura get a divorce?
The Tell-All continued with a solo appearance from Laura and Aladin, who had apparently been at odds since their wedding just a month and a half earlier.
Aladin chalked it up to cultural differences and disrespect on Laura’s part. Laura said she’d visited a coffee shop when Aladin was gone without his permission, which offended him.
But Laura thinks it isn’t just a cultural difference that’s causing the rift. She’s all out of money, and she can no longer pay the rent on their shared home.
“He wants to break the commitment we made to each other just six weeks ago,” Laura confessed to Shaun Robinson, suggesting that her new husband may have just been using her for her money after all.
To find out whether Aladin really wants a divorce, though, we’ll have to wait until Part 2 of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell-All, coming next Monday at 9 p.m. on TLC.
