‘A Million Little Things’: The Fan Theory About Eddie That Has Twitter Followers Fuming
ABC’s A Million Little Things has fans buzzing about what to expect in season 3 of the show. The fate of several members of the core group is up in the air, but the story that has most people scratching their heads is the Eddie situation.
The audience will have to sit tight to see what the future holds for Ed. But there is one popular theory that has gained traction, and with that comes a camp of viewers who are none too happy about it. [Spoiler warning: This article contains details about A Million Little Things Season 2.]
Where did ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 2 leave Eddie?
The season 2 finale of A Million Little Things blindsided the audience with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger. In the episode, Eddie visits a bar after realizing he played a part in a friend’s death as a youngster. But he resists the urge to drink, calls Katherine and plans to meet her at home for a private recommitment ceremony. As he crosses the street on foot, a vehicle hits him, and the season ends, leaving the outcome as a mystery and spurring a Twitter storm of comments centered around the fan-favorite character.
“I will take almost any ending that lets Eddie live! We don’t have many shows we watch all the time. This is one of our favorites, but I don’t know if I can watch it if they don’t let Eddie live and be OK,” tweeted a user.
Which ‘A Million Little Things’ theory about Eddie has angered fans?
Most are optimistic that Eddie will return to the show alive and well. But, because A Million Little Things is famous for being a hopeful drama with a dash of tragedy, many doubt the likable musician will get off easily — at least for the time being.
One group of fans is convinced that Eddie will end up in a coma, like this aficionado, who predicted, “Eddie is in a coma, Katherine has to make the decision to [cease] or leave him on life support, the group argues because Gary says he wouldn’t want to live like that, and Rome doesn’t want to lose someone else.”
What does the show boss have to say about it?
“Interesting…,” the showrunner, DJ Nash, replied to the theory that Eddie will fall into a coma. Of course, it is too early for Nash to confirm or deny that plot point, but that doesn’t stop fans from debating how the story could play out. And most are not thrilled about the prospect of a coma storyline for Ed.
“This is not ‘interesting’! This is terrible! If this is even close to what is going to happen, I am going to need you to give me a heads up! No way I can handle it,” wrote one follower.
While Nash remains mum about what will happen next on A Million Little Things, he did dish that things will change dramatically for Eddie’s family. When speaking with Deadline, the show boss explained, “He was hit by the car, and, what I’ve said about this is, I’m not confirming whether he’s dead or alive. I will say that Katherine and Theo’s life will never be the same.”
