Royal wedding fever is in the air! With Charlotte Casiraghi’s engagement, we just keep adding to the list of royals who will walk down the aisle in 2018. Read on for an inside look at the couple, their engagement, and what we know about their upcoming wedding.
1. Who is Charlotte Casiraghi?

Charlotte is the daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover and Stefano Casiraghi, an Italian industrialist. She’s also Grace Kelly‘s granddaughter.
She was named after her maternal great-grandmother, Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois. Charlotte is ninth in line to the throne of Monaco.

2. Her fiancé

Charlottes’s fiancé, Dimitri Rassam, is the son of actress Carole Bouquet and film producer Jean-Pierre Rassam (who passed away when Dimitri was four years old). At the age of 23, he formed the production company, Chapter 2.
In 2008, he began to focus on film production and today, works with some of the most notable names in the film industry (such as Mark Osborne, director of The Little Prince).

3. Where they met

Charlotte and Dimitri were introduced by mutual friends in 2016. According to Daily Mail, the two first met in Paris before jetting off to spend time together in Charlotte’s country residence in Barbizon, an hour outside the French capital.
In the beginning stages of their relationship, the couple chose to keep a low profile.

4. The engagement

According to People, the couple became engaged around the beginning of March 2018 while on a family ski vacation with Princess Caroline in Austria. At this time, the two have yet to make a public statement about their engagement.

5. The ring

Charlotte’s ring has made a couple of public appearances since the engagement news broke. Though it requires an eagle-eyed zoom, the rock is visible here, while attending the Montblanc Meisterstuck Le Petit Prince event on April 4, 2018.
At events since, such as a dinner hosted by the royal herself on May 16, 2018, she opted not to wear the ring.

6. The wedding

Is there any better location for a wedding than just off the coast of Italy? The two planned to get married in July in Sicily. The ceremony was rumored to be taking place at the home of the future groom’s mother, Carole Bouquet, according to Vogue.
However, in April 2018, it was reported that the wedding had been delayed.

7. Expanding the family

Both Charlotte and Dimitri are already parents. Charlotte has a 4-year-old son, Raphaël, with her ex, Gad Elmaleh. Dimitri has a daughter from his marriage to model Masha Novoselova. That means come July, Raphaël will be gaining a sister — here’s hoping he doesn’t miss being an only child too much.
And there’s even more news on the family’s growth — reportedly, the wedding has been postponed to due Charlotte’s pregnancy. The royal is said to be due in August 2018.
