‘Aladdin’ 2019: When Will The Live-Action Movie Premiere?
Aladdin is one of Disney’s most classic animated films. When the movie premiered in 1992, it enchanted audiences around the globe. We all watched in awe as the iconic story of Aladdin, a street boy from Agrabah came to life while the whimsical genie (voiced by the late Robin Williams) dazzled us all. From the songs to the magic carpet to Princess Jasmine’s wit –it was and still is perfection. Now, of course, Disney is digging into their vaults to deliver a live-action version of the iconic tale.
Since Williams passed away, many of us have been apprehensive about the live-action version of Aladdin. Even though we adore Will Smith who will step into Williams’ shoes— he has a lot to live up to. Here’s when we can expect to see the film in theaters.

Aladdin’s release date: When you can expect to see it in theaters?
The live-action Aladdin is directed by Guy Ritchie and will be released in theaters on May 24, 2019. This will be the first of Disney’s live-action films to be released in the summer of 2019. The highly anticipated live-action version of The Lion King will follow Aladdin when it debuts on July 19, 2019.
Typically, studios like to snag summer blockbuster slots for their most anticipated movies, and since Aladdin and The Lion King are some of Disney’s most legendary films of all time, it would make sense that they both have summer release dates.

The Aladdin 2019 cast
Unlike The Lion King, none of the original voices from the animated Aladdin film will be returning for the live-action version. Instead, Guy Ritchie has refreshed the tale with 21st-century visuals and an entirely new cast.
Will Smith is a legend in Hollywood, so he’ll give the Genie his own iconic spin. However, we have to admit that we are slightly disappointed that he’s not blue. Canadian actor, Mena Massoud who most recently starred in the Amazon series, Jack Ryan will play Aladdin while Power Rangers actress Naomi Scott will star as Princess Jasmine.
Of course, we can’t forget the most villainous man in Aladdin. Hunky actor Marwan Kenzari will star as the deceptive and very sexy sultan Jafar. Unfortunately, we don’t think his delightful parrot Lago or Aladdin’s monkey Abu will have speaking roles in the live-action flick.
Will the story remain the same?
Though the live-action Aladdin is not yet rated, we do know that the plot of Aladdin is expected to be nearly identical to the animated feature. Basically, Jafar confronts Aladdin — a “street rat” in Agrabah and entices him to enter the Cave of Wonders to get him the magic lamp. However, Jafar doesn’t realize how clever and crafty Aladdin is. He takes off with the lamp for himself and uses the Genie and his three wishes to woo Princess Jasmine.
Admittedly, now that we’ve seen the first photos from the film, we are a bit alarmed about this live-action Aladdin, but we’ll reserve our judgment until May 2019. All we know is if they ruin the magic carpet scene we will revolt.
